Pokemon Battling

Would anyone be interested in a competitive Pokemon tournament or league type thing?

We are going to play the Overused Tier Banlist and the normal metagame clauses. You can find the rules here.

This is still open to join as of 9:30pm PST 1/13/2013. Once we have an even number I'll forge up some groups, You'll play each member in your group and we'll cut to a single elimination tournament style for the top 4/6/8 depending on number of people.

Tournament will be hosted on http://pokemon-online.eu/download.phpPokemon Online[/url]. Please download the program and build your teams. Groups coming once I've confirmed who is in.

I'd be in.

There's this program called Pokemon Online that lets you configure damn near everything about a Pokemon. Most servers also had a Mafia "plugin" that I used my first time ever playing Mafia.

Can't remember that the URL was though.

Sadly my computer is too old to work that..

Maybe next time. I'll still watch the brackets though. I'm curious, did people get to build their own teams, or is it going to be random teams? Are there going to be legendary Pokemon allowed?

OU (Overused) and UU (Underused) are tiers. A means of ranking the strength of the various pokemon species so that players battle against similarly-strengthed pokemon teams.

Check the Smogon Tiers. This is an entire community based on competitive battling--they know what's balanced and what's not. Some legendaries (artishitno) suck.

The only reason I suggested it was to avoid a hyper-serious environment and to keep the event inclusive. I am all for competition so long as it is, in fact, enjoyable. If Panzer and other players wish to follow the tiers then I will have no problem with that as most of the banned Pokémon in OU are ones I wouldn't normally use -- SPOILERS.
