I genuinely go into it blind, and let them sway me.

In #2016 I actually had a vote for ted cruz in, but switched to rand afterwards

In 2016 I went in supporting Rand based on the information I had. The FTC questioning and speeches didn't make me favor one finalist over the other but they did provide additional game information that caused me to change my decision.

Spoiler: CC's guide to being a finalist
Now that you've made it to the end of your first game, it's time for the jury to decide who wins. So how are you gonna make sure you're the one they vote for? Let's find out!
  • Make sure your opening speech is 3,000 words or longer. You want to go through every single event in the game explaining your thought process. Go day by day giving an in-depth view of even the most trivial decisions you made. This way, few people will read your entire speech and they will merely assume you put a lot of thought into the game and that you deserve it because you tried super hard.
  • When writing your speech or answering questions, you want to admit none of your flaws, because you didn't have any.
  • Assume everyone on the jury is jealous of you and resents you, but that you don't deserve it because they're only mad you got to the end instead of them. If anyone says anything you interpret as critical or negative, shrug it off and ignore those haters.
  • Questions where people ask you to give a gif describing each member of the jury are the most important questions. These gifs will be graded on a scale from whiff to gifilf, so focus on that over anything game-related.
  • Everyone on the jury feels like they are equally robbed and deserved to win, which they do. Surrender your spot in the finals to every jury member, because they also tried super hard and deserve to win.
  • If you ignore a juror's question, they'll probably come to their senses and realize it was a dumb question, and they won't hold you accountable for it.
  • For your closing speech, you're going to want to find the best way to paraphrase your opening speech, and you need to completely redesign your platform if people didn't like your opening speech. If you're getting the feeling that the jury got a bad impression from your performance at Final Tribal Council so far, the best thing for you to do is cave on all of your bold claims from earlier on, because the jury will respect your newfound self-awareness.
  • I hope all these tips will help guide you to become the next Sole Survivor! As a one-time finalist, I feel as if I am probably the expert on this matter, so don't listen to anything anyone else tells you. There is only one correct way to win the game.

I had a thought: we should create wiki entries for the common challenge types that are seen so new mods have a jumping off point.
