Dead Last

If you didn't see it coming, you're already dead.

Dead Last is a recently published Card Game based on the Tontine, an old investment scheme where participants all pay into one account with extreme interest and receive ever-so-increasing payouts as each of the other participants die. Of course, there are those that want the ultimate payout all to themselves...

Gameplay-wise, it is a little similar to Ready Aim Fire, but with the main idea behind the eliminations being of the Majority Wins variety.

Game Flow

- Dead Last is played over a series of Games, each containing a series of Voting Rounds. At the start of each Round, 4 Gold Cards are dealt face down. The most common denomination of Gold are 4's, followed by 3's, then 5's.

- In each Round, players will vote (via PM) for a

Target

to kill off until one of the following conclusions is reached:

• If only 1 surviving player remains, he takes all 4 Gold Cards.
• If 2 players survive, both of them go into a Final Showdown (see below) for a chance to acquire some, none, or all 4 Gold Cards.
• If nobody survives, every other player NOT involved in the last voting period randomly gets 1 Gold Card from the deck.

***Gold Cards are all taken face down, so I will be PM-ing the player the card values they've received. The only thing players will be privy to is how many Gold Cards their fellow Players have.

- Players are revived again for subsequent Games and the process repeats. The first player to gain 25 (or 24 if there are more than 9 players) Gold wins the game.

Voting Rules

During each Voting Round, there are 2 possible actions you can perform. They are:

Vote <Player>

- If a Player receives the most votes, he is the designated Target and dies.
- If a Player did NOT receive the most votes, whoever did not vote for the Majority, also dies.
- In the event of Ties, all tied Targets will die together.

Ambush

- If you are the Target and you played Ambush, you do not die. Instead, you may choose ONE of the people who voted for you to die instead.
- If you are NOT the Target and you played Ambush, you die as well.
- An Ambush action is not considered a Self-Vote or any Vote for that matter.

Voting Rules: Final Showdown

In the event that only 2 Players remain in a single round, these 2 will be playing a Minigame for a chance at the 4 Gold Cards. Both Players must choose from the following actions:

• Grab One and Go
  - No matter what the other player chooses, you will always snag 1 Gold Card
• Share
  - Calls for an agreement to split the loot. You can acquire 2-3 Gold this way unless...
• Steal
  - Acquires the maximum possible number of Gold cards without caring for the other Player. Has the highest payout potential, but if you both played Steal, you both get nothing!!!

Here's a summary of how Final Showdown plays out:
Share x Share => 2 | 2
Share x Steal => 0 | 4
Grab One x Share => 1 | 3
Grab One x Steal => 1 | 3
Grab One x Grab One => 1 | 1
Steal x Steal => You both get NOTHING. All other Players get 1 Gold Card!

Misc. Rules

- Every player has 72 hours for each Voting Period/Final Showdown.
- Missing the deadline will have that player automatically be assigned the Action that would kill him without grief (Either a self-Ambush, a Minority Vote, or a non-Ambushable Target Vote. In that order.)
- If you are going to be out for awhile, kindly inform me ahead of time.
- Communication is not restricted to this thread. Feel free to use whatever means you have at your disposal.

New Rule

: If a First Round ends with all players Ambushing or only 1 not Ambushing, a warning will be given. On the 2nd time this happens, rocks fall and everyone dies game over. Total Party Ambushes are considered going against the spirit of the game and is a form of griefing.

Game So Far:

Game 1

: JDGA and Shadoweh off conspirator Aronis after an initial alliance. Both players chose to SHARE, netting 2 cards each.

Game 2

: Two even factions split off, offing JDGA and Astinus early. Ircher taunts the losers, which earns the ire of Shadoweh's new faction. Aronis outthinks his conspirators and is now sharing the loot with Shadoweh. Both gain 2 cards each.

Game 3

: The hatred against Shadoweh is strong, but she counters swiftly against the mob. Unfortunately she is ousted along with sacrificial lion Astinus. In the Final Showdown, eager replacement newcomer vonflare opens with our first STEAL action, taking a total of 3 cards at once! JDGA telegraphs and makes off with a single card.

Game 4

: The revenge rally against vonflare was a success, but the paranoid leader JDGA offs herself in turn. As the no-carders decided their fate, 2-card holder Aronis bamboozles everyone to steal an entire pot of 4 cards!
