*shrugs* And I ran Windows ME for about five years, and never encountered any bugs. Sometimes things just fail to happen.

Well, if we're going to talk about... Never mind.

Anyway, Cheery Dog, name something that has become obsolete within the last 10 years, using whatever definition or definitions of "obsolete" you think the survey takers used :P

I refuse to let CD be stolen from us, SC! Our family is too perfect. Although I'm sure the Bluebell clan would love to have him, they must answer their own questions.

I think I got my last "new" VHS 15 years ago.

New as it was a copy of something filmed

But I assume it's a possiblity surveys takers aren't aware of when 10 years ago actually was either

Hence the existence of memes of the forms "X was Y years ago" or "The people born when X, are now Y", and so on.

I guess what I'm saying to everyone is that you are older than you think, and that the relentless march of time will get to you before you know it. Happy new year.

Well, dear me! This is turning out to be insanely difficult for a single-points question!

RedCoyote, let's see if five heads are better than one here, even though there's only $25 at stake...

My guess would be something like Windows XP - or a slightly older version.

Could be. XP stopped being supported in 2009, I think. Other possibilities: Phone books, cassette tapes, CRT TVs, and maybe CDs.

Fax machines was my first guess. I believe that's what I put for this survey. However, I think CDs is a better answer. I don't like XP as an answer. Phone books is good, cassette tapes and CRT TVs, eh... I guess something has to be up there. CDs is great because not just for music, but as a storage medium altogether.

Will submit this unless anyone has what they think is a better answer.

Also with VHS/Video Tapes as the first answer, I think it shows that there's an inclination to think about data storage for this question.

I guess the fact they're now combined with printers is something as well.
Also stands alone scanners (but I think those might be older than 10 years)

Well, this kind of gets back to what Mitillos was saying. We're trying to think of what people might say rather than what's technically accurate.
