Yeahh.. Don't lie.
It actually works sometimes, a cop fooled me(I was scum) with a VT claim last newbie I played.
But it sure is risky.
So if a Cop claimed and there was no counterclaim (and if the original claiming player was lying, it's a win-win scenario for Village) you would lynch them anyway? I've seen that done and it's usually hurting Town, because as Nacho said, you're getting your greatest enemy out, free. You should never policy lynch a Cop either. The intent to hammer post allows them to claim and mount their final defense, and who they think is scum. If they flip Town, these reads are honest, and so worth a lot to Village.

Not much, but I doubt he can fake such genuine-looking stubbornness as scum.
Yes, you said you feel it's coming from town but I don't understand why you feel that. All the reasoning you gave was that he's not lazy. You agree that not all scum are lazy. So how does (not lazy) = (town)?

frog, that statement actually boosts Skullduggery's point. If Who comes from a place where scum not paying attention was a scumtell, he will pay much more attention as scum. Therefore, his not noticing the replacement (lack of attention) is a possible towntell.
Also I'll state that the pair {Who, frog} is practically impossible at this point, as I cannot believe that Who forgot who his scumpartner is.

Skullduggery, don't let speculation take over you so easily. Yes, this could be a possible scenario, but there's no proof for it. Don't immediately think that you solved the mystery and tunnel on those two for the rest of the game, because that's a classic mistake that happens to most newbies.

This is where it gets annoying that cybertronix replaced out. Cybertronix was very scummy, then without offering any defense he left giving us no explanation of why he did any of the scummy things.

To me (and I thought more people would share this view), this is more indicative of someone who just generally isn't interested in the game rather than scum. I can't see how ANYONE playing as a mafia role would think to draw attention to themselves by such random vote/unvoting and I also think that if you were given a mafia role you'd be far less likely to leave.
So you suggest (wrongly) that I'm doing this 'Amished tell' and then when I point out how you're wrong you come back saying that you don't care that it was a poor argument and you're still unwilling to reconsider, despite the huge lack of evidence against me. Previously I was very confident that you were town but after that comment you've moved to my second highest scumread.
It was not a poor argument. You cannot willingly "do" the Amished tell. You talked about your predecessor and him being scummy and then tried to defend him.

Also orozorro, don't ever give up despite how bad the odds look. I agree that you would not be able to escape the lynch, but you never know what happens; lack of knowledge causes paranoia to the townspeople.

We should be lynching the player that we feel is most likely Scum regardless of whether they claim to be a VT or a power role. I'd rather lynch a claimed PR who is being overtly scummy than lynch a VT just because that seems like the "safer" option.

For example, Cybertronix could fakeclaim jailkeeper later and argue his "JK" was a breadcrumb. Would that mean he is 100% saying the truth if someone counterclaimed him?

Nacho is Nacho. Majiffy has done nothing so far other than telling us that you're obvscum without a single reason why. He's not going to get away with it.

Maybe, although I guess he could pay some attention in order to select who to NK.
The fact he wasn't on the wagon doesn't mean that much. Town and scum alike would vote him after you counterclaimed and especially after he admitted he's scum, but only 5 were required for a lynch.
