VOTE: frozen angel for being a replacement.
IC Introduction:
Hello everyone. My name is ika and I am your IC for this game. IC is a bit of humor, standing for Inexperience Challenged. The IC is a volunteer position served by experienced players who wish to help newer folks have an enjoyable experience in their first games, and to help teach some of the basics of the game and answer any questions of mafia game theory which may arise. There are also SE players in the game, which means that they have played a certain number of games including at least one outside of the Road to Rome. SEs are not obligated to answer questions, nor are they obligated to answer honestly should they choose to answer any questions.
The IC position is not at all indicative of role or alignment, so anything I say about mafia theory talk is outside of my alignment. While some things are not absolute, I will not lie about what i personally think if the question at hand is a subjective thing
Please be aware that while I shall not lie to you in my role as IC about theory, you should consider me just as likely as any other player in the game to be on the scum team. While I will not lie about theory talk. What i say about players alignments and reads and everything in between can be a subjective thing based on my role and/or alignment
There is plenty of time in each day phase, so be sure to discuss things with the rest of the players, ask questions, respond to questions from others, and check back in as often as you have the time. An active game is a great deal more fun than an inactive one.
Please do remember to keep things civil. I myself has been known in the past to get very aggressive as a player. However i alwasy try to keep it within the realm of the game. Do not bring personal stuff in here to try to gain an advantage. Its one thing to say you have RL issues, its another to think you are being attacked for your RL issues. Likewise do not question a person RL situation

So i also like to start with some questions to get the ball rolling:
1) how experienced are you with mafia?
2) Would you rather be town or scum and why?
3) are you town?
I myself will be heading out shortly to take someone to work. I am normally able to check the thread 2/3 times a day when I work so I am quite active as a player to answer and respond

In post 48, ShockZephyr wrote:Or are they null tells? That questionnaire seems useless to me.
Most questions that are asked that have a set response (ie are you town) do have the "yes im town" response and is null. However sometimes players (scums) feel like they need to overcompensate the answer and find a justification to it. One thing i have learned in mafia after 3 years of it is that scums have a sense of guilt or self awareness to themselves where they will sometimes say something different then their townselfs
Basicly what i see from smitheriness is a soft deflecting of jsut theory talk and not really answer it. I mean he is right that it is subjective to the user themselves and that its open for interpretation but again. MPOV (my point of view) feels like its scum atm so i am continuing to poke him every now and then.
I mean, the thing is, why does one need to have this thought out answer to such an obvious question?

I don't like to think i am aware of your doings as well as you are aware of mine. If you think you know my doings more power to you but for me (especially on a day 1). I don't look very deep thinking level yet

simiterines why are you so hell bent on something so irrelevant? like i really i already admitted it that it is null overall and open to the user themselves. So what are you going off on?

im waiting on smiterines to fill in the peices. Like this is a newbie so while i can understand the "withhold info" game. it is not ideal play for newbies
I get the feeling we're like squealing children to you. So do tell us what's on your mind.
Have you ever considered what your doing is very anti town and that while I think your fights are TvT to a point that i would gladly lynch you for your play?
But no. He and Aphix came after me together, using similar language, and then he's going for this Super Newbie Townie look, but I guess it's just a gut feeling to me.
The first one is allowed to claim scum for WIFOM tactic and potentially be leashed in certain setups, the later is near borderline rule breaking, claiming to be scum with someone (joking or not and regardless of alignment) can be brought up as a mod killable offence. I know most mods are lenient about it in an RVS format or something of the sort. But there can be cases where a slot can be modkilled.

btw before i forget about this
self voting as town before an l-1/hammer (well self voting as town at all) is very anti town play. Scums sometimes do it to hammer themselfs to shut discussion short. Most times its only under when they have a guilty results on them

Ya im kinda in in the place where we had more then enough time.
most commonly all games have diffrent deadline basis, it is ideal to try to consolidate on a lynch around this time IMO so there is not a deadline rush

It's not a real strong case, I agree. That's why I said "leaning scum" instead of calling you flat out scum.
I don't like your read on FA because I don't think you can get a town read on such a small sample size.
what did you mean when you said "it was a null-tell" in 66?
You can, i can link a game that went 9 pages where we town read each other in a matter of 3, it wasn't with frozen but it can show you that it can be done
the overall thing about that i was saying is that objectively its null what ppl answer the questions, but realistically they all have a reason for responding and it can be anything from town motivation to PR motivation to sucm motivation
Are you referring to Idiot Savant calling frogger town on the first page? because it couldn't have been a strong read because by page 3 they read him as "meh"
you realzie that the slot was a hydra and that bellaphant also did posting. You should also see how fast my read progress on several slots. its jsut to show you what i did with FA is not unusual for me at least to so with ppl

2. If the other one of you flips town tomorrow, what is the first thing you post ( and for the purposes of this question there is no night kill)
1) i have already said i have preference for scum, if you want why i can do that too

Like i would jsut go back to pushing who i was pushing before or iso myself to find my reads. I very rarely actually do an rereading overnights so anything i had porb would be forgotten

I did realize it was a hydra, looks like bellaphant was inconsisten with signing his posts so it's hard to tell whose thoughts where whose. Even if they had a strong town read there is no proof that whatever metrics they used for determining town where accurate, they could have just been lucky. It would take a lot more than one game to prove anything.
thanks for the tip re: spoiler tags btw
Its called experince and knowing a player.
Anti/TTH/frogger i have played with a lot so i can mostly tell them on intuitions now
