Rules

(adapted from Rob13)

All Site Rules apply at all times.

General Rules:

1. Do not use my colour,

purple (#800080)

2. If you believe a mod error has been made or you disagree with any action I took, please PM me immediately.
3. Once you are dead, you may not post in the game thread. This includes “Bah” posts.
4. You may not quote private communication of any kind, including (real or fabricated) Moderator-supplied information. Paraphrasing is acceptable.
5. Do not talk about this game anywhere else unless I have specified it is permitted such as in a private topic. This includes PM-ing other players.
6. Do not play against the spirit of the rules or of the game. Personal attacks will not be tolerated.
7. No invisible/small/encrypted text allowed.
8. This ruleset is subject to change at any time. If a change is made mid-game, it will be announced in-thread by the mod.

Voting and Deadline Rules:

1. Votes should be made using bolded text (

Vote: insanity018

) or a vote tag (VOTE: insanity018). You can also vote for no lynch. Unvotes when changing votes are not necessary. Votes made inside quoted or spoilered text will not be counted.
2. A lynch (or no lynch) occurs when a simple majority is reached. If deadline is reached without a simple majority, a no lynch occurs.
3. All days have a deadline of 14 days. I may extend this in rare circumstances.
4. When a player is lynched, the game enters twilight. All players may continue to post until I lock the thread.
5. Each night will end after 48 hours and no sooner. The countdown for a night deadline will not start while a replacement is being sought out.
6. All night actions must be submitted by PM or a relevant private topic.
7. In the case of five consecutive phases with no deaths, all factions who have not yet achieved their win condition lose.

Activity Rules:

1. A prod PM will be issued if any player does not post for 48 hours. Prods will be announced in-thread. You have 24 hours to pick up your prod either by posting or PM (if at night). After this time, I may begin seeking a replacement.
2. I may seek replacement immediately without waiting 24 hours if a player receives more than three prods.
3. If you plan to be gone for over 48 hours, please announce that you will be V/LA in-thread (or by PM, if at night).

Each Newbie Game will be given a setup that incorporates either one row or one column. The remaining six roles will be filled in by mafia goons and vanilla townies appropriately, to create a 2-mafia and 7-town setup. For example Row 1 (1 jailkeeper, 1 vanilla townie, 1 mafia goon) would add an additional 5 vanilla townies and 1 mafia goon, for a total setup of 1 jailkeeper, 6 vanilla townies, and 2 mafia goons.

*Roleblocker will take precedence over jailkeeper when resolving night actions should that apply.

Note: This game is being run with Daytalk for the Mafia team.

In the capital of Mafiascumland, Karnage, Extrapolated Eagle, aphix, ika, Comparing Realities and Dierfire waited excitedly for the NYE fireworks to begin.

3...2...1... the countdown began.

Except the fireworks display didn't start! The group looked at each other in confusion when Eagle opened his mouth-unhelpfully and to the outrage of his friends said -

"That's good. I never liked fireworks anyway."

Extrapolated Eagle has been lynched Day 3. He was a Vanilla Townie.

There is nothing to prevent a win condition from occurring....

As Karnage, ika and Comparing Realities attacked Eagle, they failed to notice that aphix and Dierfire were smirking at one another. aphix and Dierfire had bribed the fireworks manufacturers to provide faulty fireworks. They planned to disrupt many important Mafiascumland events over the next year.

2016 had started really well for Dierfire and aphix...

Thanks everyone for playing! Wow, this was a stressful game to mod with the mass of replacements. So, thanks/congratulations to aphix and ika for staying in the game from the beginning! And many thanks to the rest of you for replacing in!

Ultimately, I think this game was a very good performance from the scumteam. I don't think either of them ever looked like they were in danger of being lynched. They used daytalk well and also did a good job playing on the emotions of town. Congratulations again, aphix and Dierfire! It's a shame you never got to have fun fake-claiming doctor though.

I found it really impressive how although there was some suspicion on the scum slots at the beginning of Day 1, they managed to completely turn that around. Neither aphix nor Dierfire looked anywhere close to getting lynched on Days 2/3.

Eagle, if you're still sure about whoever you're scumreading but are having difficulty persuading people, I find it helpful to try restating your case in different ways.

ika, I think this would have been a difficult game to first time IC due the number of replacements (and the fact that these were mostly from the newbie slots). But like aphix said, apart from the activity dropping off, I think you did an okay job.

The massive Smithereens/aphix argument Day 1 was unfortunate for town I think. Not just because it made the scumteam pretty sure that the slot was a PR but because of the way it drowned everyone else out. I think it contributed to town apathy and the replacement flood, that was ultimately difficult for town to recover from.

Even though I <3 all the replacements!
