Newbie 1717: Newbies Through the Looking Glass (Game Over)

Hello! I will catch up in a bit. This is my first game on this forum, but I've played a few FM games on other forums before. So hopefully I'm not complete garbage

English isn't my first language. I have a hard time understanding some of the longer words that all of you like using, so, sorry if I don't always understand what you're trying to say.


Grace - Leaning Town
This is Grace's first game, so it is understandable that she would use emotion to justify herself. When she saw Accoutant being aggresive and trying to "create something out of nothing", I believe she tried to do the same herself, but then she realized she doesn't have the experience to do it. Not ruling out the possibility that she could be scum who realized she bit more than she can chew, but I don't believe that this is the case. She is trying to scumhunt, in her own way.

Simoyd - Leaning Town, mostly because of his ... interrogation? (don't know how to call it) against Accountant. I don't believe that if he was scum he would be pushing for a ML on the IC so early, and with so little to back it up. Another thing, even after alot of people stated that my slot (Meepo) was a very strong townread, Smoyd still said he is scumreading me. That for me is a town slip, because I feel like he is genuinely trying to scumhunt, instead of just trying to

to be doing so. If that makes any sense.

RC - Leanining Town
This probably sounds really stupid, but this I am townreading him because he is accusing Accountant with little to no reasoning. In my eyes, Accountat is very likely to get lynched today, and if she were to flip Town, RC would get into alot of trouble tommorow. So, if he was scum, I think he would try harder to get her mislynched, and make it seem like Accountant got lynched because she was scumslipping herself, not because he pushed her for no reason. I think that aggresively pushing for the target you are scumreading, and not caring about how others read you is a town trait. Most important thing for scum is to look Town, the most important thing for Town isn't to look like Town.

As for everyone else, I have a null read on them. Sorry that I don't have any strong scumreads yet. If anything, I wouldn't oppose a Pants98 lynch, because I don't see much town motivation behind his posts. So basically a Policy Lynch.

I'm really paranoid when it comes to active players who post alot and are loud. I have no idea how to read them, because their posts could be justified through both Town and scum point of view. So far, Accountant has been doing her job well as IC - explaining some basic stuff, and going in aggresively, quickly changing the Day 1 Topic from joking around to a serious discussion. I'm not convinced that she is scum, and if possible I would like to ask RC or Postie to please explain why are they so confident that she is scum, because I don't really understand.

Accountant did chainsaw defend IV, something that she herself said is scummy. IV is too trying to push the attentioon away from Accountant. I agree it's likely that if one of them flips scum, so will the other one. But I'm still not convinced that either of them is scum until I hear some more concrete reasoning. 1) One of the few benefits of getting a replacement player is getting a new set of eyes looking at the game. Might help?

3) I usually phone post (meaning I don’t do giant formatted posts like this often) - would like to have this available when I’m on my phone.

1)This reason is good in general, but not in the case of your notes. It's helpful to get a new set of eyes giving us reads, not repeating what has already happened in the game.

It looks to me like he is paranoid, and he desperately wants to get out of the bad position that Pants left him in, so he tries to snatch some town cred with those notes of his. The problem is, there is not really a point in them. I don't know what's the English idiom for that. Like, it looks like a big deal on the outside, but in reality, it's nothing.

When I questioned him about them, he admitted that he wrote them so we can townread him. He excused himself that he did it because Pants was being scumread alot, but he contradicted himself, because earlier he didn't want to admit that his slot is scummy, and instead said that Pants was a null read.

Anyway, I'm not that sure of Blank/Lycan scumteam, because Blank said Lycan is his top town read. I think if they were scum they would try to distance themselves. And it's always a good strategy for a scum to call someone else than his scumbuddy a strong town read for two reasons:

1) If the townread dies and flips, it will look good on the scum
2) If the scum dies, everyone will suspect the townread as his scumbuddy

So yeah, I think that it's possible that this is happening between Blank and Lycan.

Well, it looks to me like you have too much information Postie. You keep mentioning Accountant, but I belive we are forgetting a more important thing - Grace's slot. Initially, you townread Grace (which ended up being correct),

but then, just because RC started throwing suspicioun on Titus

, you changed your view by 180 degrees on the slot. You rely on RC for creating the reads and then you support then, but how do you know that RC is town in the first place? The only role that could know that is Mafia Goon.

Your defense against the murder of Titus is the WIFOM argument that since you were being scumread by her, it would be a bad idea to kill her, as it looks bad to you. I'm not denying the possibility of you being town, and Mafia doing this to put bad light on you, but I'm also not denying the possibility of you killing her, because she seemed like a really strong player to me. From the perspective of Scum!Postie, letting Titus live today would mean you or Blank would get lynched today.

I would like to apologize for being such a dense moron. Yesterday I should have waited for Blank and Lycan before hammering. And yet, RC started getting emotional, Simoyd started getting suicidal, everyone was freaking out. I just couldn't contain myself. I was confident that Simoyd would flip scum, so I thought it would be hilarious to just hammer him right there.

If they are town, they aren't supposed to know Simoyd's flip, yet both of them assume that he will flip town and they already start discrediting me and looking for someone to blame as my scum partner. IV flaunders between putting his own scumpartner (Postie), or the only other non-confirmed town (Lycan), and then Postie states that it's Lycan, which sets up their plan for today. Today they will try to blame me and Lycan as scumbuddies.

Yesterday, I was being scumread as the potential scumbuddy of Simoyd, because I was opposing his lynch and wanted to lynch Postie instead. That makes me a potential scum partner of Simoyd. I'm pretty sure that I'm NOT an obvious scum if Simoyd flips town, yet IV treats me as one.

Another thing. Seems like the setup is column C. This means that both of the Mafia are Goons. So both of them would know that RC was lying yesterday. They must have been surprised by RC's claim, considering they knew that he is town. Both Blank and Postie insisted that we wait for Lycan and Blank, to see if anyone would CC PR. I have a problem with that:

IV and Postie both supposedly scumread Blank and Lycan. Why insist on waiting for them if they believe they are scum?

Here is why. Because they knew RC was lying, so they did it just in case he was a VT, so then he would have to 1v1 whoever was the PR between Blank or Lycan, while they could just sit back and sip tea.
