As for how many games of mafia I have played, well tons all on this site.

I had about a year when I was not playing, and part of that time I was not on site due to personal stuffs,

However I do have a couple completed games since I came back if anyone wants to do some meta diving, I would be happy to provide links. If you want scum games though, they are all older mainly from early 2015 and before.

ecane basically what foxbird said is correct, however it is only a tool and it does have its limitations, I find it is most useful when you have had multiple games with someone and they have been both scum and town, if they have a couple 3rd party roles too, all the better,

For example, of all the players here, I would feel most confident in meta reading Nacho, but even then I would still look at other factors that are present in THIS game.

I can relate to the slammed in RL just ended today a v/la for a few days due to work stuffs, I work from home and at this point, it is mostly doing ghostwriting and content writing for clients which is a bit of feast and famine.

back to the game we have almost 6 days and the discussion level is abysmal so we need to kick it up a notch, reading up more and going to see what I can do to help move things along.

Usually as scum he buses his buddy hard, though he might not do that as much this round since he knows I am in the game,

Generally as both town and scum he tends to strongly town read me. In fact, in the few games where he was town and I was scum, I felt guilty about him town reading me lol,

I will say what to look for is when he is here and focused, look closely at his content and what PoV it makes more sense from, he lurks because of RL not alignment as I said.

Im feeling pretty good about Jaack he feels like he is trying to figure stuff out,

Delta is well up in the air til he is either replaced or something

Grat I have experience with in one game Im not quite ready to rule him as town, I town read him in that game and he was scum. He may be town in this one, but I want to see more from him before I make that determiniation.

Of the 3 votes on your wagon delta is the scummiest especially with him being the other wagon.

I want to see if he gets replaced and if so, depending on how the replacement responds, that is probably where I will put my vote.

Yeah mostly that. I want to see some of these players who are not really contributing to contribute.

Besides a pred that said nothing and is on a vanity wagon with two major wagons up for grabs, and pretty much flaked out, then replaced and his replacement basically had one post promising content after dinner but then nothing I think we need to rattle some sabers here and get this game moving, or we will end up having nothing to go on come deadline.

My biggest problem with fox and I would vote him if we come to deadline over having a NL on D1, is he seemed to have reasons for his vote on delta. Yes I see your point, but I have also seen that tactic done by frustrated townies, especially in a first game. It seems to me that the desire to make people TALK especially in a game like this one is far more likely to be a frustration from a townie PoV and the scum are far more likely to be coasting after all there has not been a lot of pressure put on them.

meh that is typically why peeps scum read me I am not super abrasive etc.

However you are one of the most active members in the thread atm, and though I have put you in my town pile, I am not saying you are 100% town. You are one of the ones I could see pulling the wool over the eyes, however, I think if you were scum Troll, you would not increase activity to quite this level with so few people being active. I am not town reading you just because of your activity, but the WAY you are active, and HOW you are pushing on people to interact and get this game out of the mess it is in.

Im also town reading Nacho and he is one of the least active members.

(quick IC point) Yes Jaack it is better to focus on scum hunting and not trying to figure out scum budz until you have a scum flip.

Back to the game, Part of my scum reads are based on PoE and I fully recognize I could be wrong on some of them. I feel like I am stumbling in the dark because there is nothing here that is majorly super scummy and that makes it harder to figure things out.

Just finished a game where fox was one head of a hydra that tried to get me lynched, so I am thinking I may be giving her too much leeway as a newbie which is a bad habit I have. The fake claim gambit she and her hydra partner did then them and their scum bud who was being rather town read (Kuribo) almost lynched me then lynched Jiffy before he got back to the game.

I need to see more from Inno I want that slot pegged. I should be able to tell if it is town Inno once he has posted more. If he doesn't he moves to my scum pile.

Jaack and ecaine seem like town leans but they are very week reads, mostly because at least they POSTED.

I am torn on Fox but her mention of Kuribo leading her around also I can see that in both the scum PT and what I know about the dude. And he is VERY good, I actually was town reading him. That fake claim of watcher and saying I was visiting Kuribo to keep him from shooting SSK was pure genius.

Grat could be changing his play a bit because he knows I just finished a game with him as scum.

Grat do you have any finished town games at all? I know you are fairly new to the site.

The last couple of pages are pure gold

Along with her other hydra head she pulled a fake claim of watcher and claimed that they watched me visit kuribo and blocked him from shooting SSK (who turned out to be town but i was scum reading him because I totally missed that Kuribo was scum fake claiming.)

They then speed lynched Jiffy while he was still at work, encouraging ssk to vote with them, knowing he was at work. They knew I was town reading him too hard to do it, I just knew he was town. And I also knew there was a good chance he would vote for me when he got back on, believing the claim so I pushed back.

It was a beaut of a gambit.

So that was why I voted for Fox. However she did make a good point about Kuribo being the one setting up the gambit in the first place.

yeah I do that too but I like to get an overall pic of everyone at least a preliminary one by the end of the first day definitely by the end of the 2nd. Sometimes I have to reassess but I am a big picture type of person.

Will be doing a couple of hydrae to work on improving my game.

If crab does not do more I could see him as a compromise lynch. I am also leaning toward grat even though there are some differences here in his play, it could be hes doing that cause he knows I just saw him win as scum

first of all I am impressed you definitely clarified that slot more I just can't see you putting THAT much effort in for a scum slot, though I would like to see some scum games if you have links, IIRC you have always been town with me in games. Though seriously a lot of what you have on me has more to do with the fact I got totally swamped with work and have not been able to play.

As for seeing caston as scummy, I think you really should focus on reading troll on that slot He has definitely contributed more and if you remember 1222 they lynched him and he was town, this definitely has that same feel in tone and in the PoV of the slot.

I have reassessed Fox and yeah I did jump to conclusions partly because of the previous game.

Actually there is a parallel here I have been too hard on fox because of previous game and I have been giving grat too much leeway.

I hate being wrong

Mostly I was looking forward to playing with nacho when this game went into sign ups, plus of course he was the IC so was looking forward to him setting the tone like he usually does, and pegging him off the bat as either town or scum. His activity level though sucked and we ended up with a bunch of non active players so I stumbled around asking questions trying to get the activity up. Nacho is much better at picking up clues than I am thats why once I have figured out he is town, I like to pay attention to his reads he sees things I miss.

I never had a strong town read on grat just a hmm need to see I was wrong.

Im going to analyze the wagon on him see if that gives me a better handle on the game.

Naa I think you are town Zor, mistaken town but town.

I really would like to give Nacho a chance to catch up before we lynch anyone.

I still have zor and Nacho as my strongest town reads. Zor more than Nacho simply because Nacho has been so busy and not participating as much. But the few posts he has posted, especially the more recent ones are pure town Nacho.

As for work stuffs, I spent a few days writing 10 k words split up in articles, and turned in LATE, the client may not hire me again though I hope he does

He did pay me so I was able to pay the electric bill before it was shut off.

Revamping some things so hopefully something like that does not happen again.

I do not declare V/LA as a scum tactic.

I am going to take a look at some ISOs in particular, those of ecaine, Jaack, and Inno

I may have been giving Inno too much of a pass, based on being used to him being town in games. We just had a newbie game end that had scum Inno and I voted the wrong person in LYLO and bam Inno's partner hammered.

He and Mav both claimed tracker. I was 1 shot BP and had been outed by my pred. You will note that Inno did a lot of heavy buddying, but then he and snake did not follow vote count protocol so that tripped me up and I voted for Mav instead. I wanted to push for voting for snake and give me longer to sort out the dueling tracker claims. I should have pushed that harder.

well I am not sure what he was thinking there. He did change his mind and off BBmolla in the end.

I replaced in that game to find out that my pred had outed himself as the bp so I had to confirm it and go on. Was kind of weird being a conf townie in everyone's mind because I am usually low hanging fruit.

Its very rare for it to be strategic for scum to do a no kill. Especially on night 1. I would not recommend it in a newbie game especially.

Scum Nacho buses the he double hockey stick out of his scum buddy even if the scum buddy is the scum PR I know because he has done it to me when we were scum together.

Scum Nacho has no qualms squashing me like a bug and getting me lynched when I am town as well.

Town Nacho really makes an effort to find the interactions and get a real read on people. He also town reads me pretty solidly. Sometimes this leads to me feeling very guilty the few times he was town and I was scum.

One thing I will tell you had Nacho been scum, busy or not we would have lynched his scum bud by now. He is a major hard busser. then he rides the town credit right on home. He also if he were scum would be getting ME lynched because he knows later in the game I am a risk to him because I tend to peg him as scum in the end. If I was his scum buddy he wold hard bus and with me as town he would be pushing my mislynch.

I have claimed VT as scum but it really depends on the situation. But in this case I figured that someone was going to hammer me pretty quick, Nacho was busy and not able to solidly play which added to my sense of frustration with this game. Seeing inno read both Troll and I as scum and having very little to really sink my teeth in has not helped.

I still stand by my reads though especially on Troll and Nacho.

This is a good question, and tbh, I didn't know. I liked Nacho's case for town-Rach, so me being all for a Rach lynch was suddenly dissolved.

Early on fox votes for inno's pred, then when inno comes on and posts, then she backs away from the read,

Now we have inno voting for her and suddenly when reminded how short our deadline is, he flips back to NL. Even though he knows Nacho, and you both indicated you would not be happy with a NL, and I have stated I would support Nacho if he wants to lynch.

That feels like light bus then hop off.

Uhh I can only think of maybe 2 games EVER that I have been the NK? Im generally lynched on D1 or D2 and that is about 75% of the time regardless of alignment.

Since i am VT in this game I basically just ignored it during the night time. I had other games going on where I had serious PR stuff to do.

Like for example Mastins role madness game JUST ended and not long before that so did Homestuck which means I only now have ONE large Role Madness game I am in instead of THREE.

So yeah once a lynch was done, I pretty much waited for the mod to let me know the game started again.

OH and I do not bus because Im so much lynchbait bussing just is not something I do.

Im pretty sure its Inno and if it is not Inno then it has to be Fox and shes got bigger balls than I do to hammer her scum budz.

My first game EVER on site I had a scum buddy me so much that he made me unlynchable and I was the bloody doc. I dont trust people who buddy me too much and never suspect me, with few exceptions. Nacho is one of them because I do know he busses his scum budz. And I know he would not go out on a limb for me if he was scum.

so that read is solid.

I have inno screaming at me that I am wrong about you and that you are scum. Yet he does not vote for Jaack who was scum.

I have Fox who I have seen play scum pretty well, but I just don't see her pulling a Nacho. That takes pretty big balls, and most scum play more conservatively.

And the fact that ecaine was voting for me because of lack of activity? That is your case? Seriously. I was V/LA and I understimated the time of the V/LA by a couple of days we actually discussed that because I was scum reading another player in another newbie game that just ended.

The player I scum read turned out to be the tracker and she eliminated one other person and we got the last scum caught. I can find the game if you want. Oddly enough it was the same mod. Newbie 1727. Chrimi and Accountant were going at it hammer and tongs, and BBT when he replaced in added to the mess, Wake cut through some of it when he replaced in and we lynched BBT because suddenly I had this idea he was scum, was a gut read which normally I don't go with, but in this case I did. It payed off.

Why do you think a Jaack/Inno team is not possible? Seriously.

What I said, is that either alignment I tend to get lynched on D1 or D2 about 75% of the time. That is the part of the play I am working on by hydraing with players like Jiffy now and Nacho in the future.

I tend to be more of a logic and PoV person looking at everyone in the game big picture than a gut reader, so when people are not active, it makes it really difficult for me to peg everyone. Which is why I have struggled so much in this game. It is why I wanted Nacho's insight he is far better at pegging people quickly.

OK I have seen scum do this not push their partner at all. Or just add them into the list along with someone else they hope town will lynch instead. Your whole case is based on what one newbie is doing same with your case on ME, yet Inno is a far more experienced player, and so am I , even though I do have some weak areas. Yet you do not look at the interactions WE have with Jaack, instead you are basing your entire case on inno being town and me being scum on what Jaack said and did. That is a seriously faulty premise.

BTW its that premise that often gets scum Nacho to float to victory after bussing his scum budz on D1. Everyone is so focused on how Nacho behaved and giving him kudos and town cred, they do not pay attention to how the scum bud acted toward Nacho.

I just played the town jk in a crazy game (homestuck) Town kept trying to lynch me even though I was confirmed by several players as having jailed them and them getting my speeches (which was how I jailed them actually). We also had a loverizer double doc dude (ssk), a watcher (Kling) and basically between the 3 of us we managed to keep the scum team in knots and they barely got any kills at all.

Point is for this game on several occasions, I jailed someone and pushed them as scum since there had not been a night kill, and they all flipped TOWN, other than ONE Mirhawk, who I had other stuff on, plus of course Bro I knew was scum without jailing him.

So JK is not the same as cop, especially when you have more than ONE scum left.

I actually had more TIME to post I mentioned that

between the work stuffs and the fact I found myself in 3 role madness larges of which the two that finished I had to really push to help town win is part of why I have been not as active as I should have been this game

So yeah I am not in favor of lynching me then lynching inno tomorrow because what if I am wrong about Inno and it is Fox? Then she wins by default because you pushed through a lynch on another townie. I would rather see us focus more on figuring out which one it is either inno or fox.

Here is the other newbie game that just ended recently with the same MOD mind you, You will see same issue being accused of lurking, tunneling on the wrong player but then it got corrected. We finally DID land the other player.

I suppose next you are going to float the idea that I did not send in a shot last night because I bloody well told you I did not pay this game any attention at all in the night phase I had no reason to since I was VT and had other pressing games on my mind

I try not to replace out of games especially this late but I am very close to asking for replacement because of the level of absurdity here troll.

Yes I was town reading Jaack and yes I was bloody well wrong about it. I also voted him. I did that because the town block I was trying to put together supported both having a lynch and that he be the lynch. WHY ON EARTH WOULD I TRY TO MAKE A TOWN BLOCK OUT OF YOU AND NACHO AND I if I were scum, I would be trying to stir up conflict not bring town together.

I care more now because now town has two people who are potentially scum and one of them is bound to BE scum, and you are trying to get me someone I KNOW is town lynched. Early on on D 1 or D2 it is not as big a deal to me because meh, town can still win.

I do not want to see town lose because you convince everyone to mislynch me and then you pick wrong tomorrow when most likely either you or nacho is gone.

Plus of course at that point I figured it was inevitable but that town could come back from it, now I think it is stupidly going to backfire

I will go through Inno and Foxs ISOS and find more for you and look at VCA as well but not tonight its 3 AM and Im rather tired,

It feels like she is hedging her read on me, I may know that Troll is wrong on his read on me but I can at least respect his read and see his read as coming from a Town PoV.

I want to apologize to everyone for my early lack of activity I ended up in probably way too many games plus a lot going on in RL which I am still sorting some things out, but it is much better now.

HUGS Troll no worries and it was not just the games either. RL was a royal B*** to me I was struggling and trying to start two full businesses in one step and it was killing me and costs me some good clients too,

My biz coach got a hold of me and has streamlined my business so now I am just doing enough ghostwriting to cover bills n such and working on my own business stuff, Getting ready to launch a 30 day challenge on Oct 3rd. Today I finish up the last finishing touches to set it up. Then my coach and I will be marketing it for the next couple of weeks up to start of challenge.

I have also had some emotional ups and downs with coming back to the site but overall it has been a good experience. And I will be moving to Buffalo, NY in about a year which will be a good move for me. Getting out of the South and into a place where I can find like minded people, and be who I AM instead of hiding most of myself for fear of the neighbors would be really good. It is also the final step to completely starting a brand new life and I am so looking forward to it.

In addition to the games on my main, I have also been playing a hydra (On The Prowl) with Jiffy and have one planned with Nacho in the future to help improve my play. You were completely correct to chastise me, and the fact that I was really having trouble getting solid reads on the scum team until late in game did not help. That was why I was sheeping Nacho so much,I knew when he was here, he saw more clearly than I did.
