Also, Modified Greatest is probably, like, the best Marathon game type ever.

I haven't had any problems finding games during any marathon weekend, but I have to admit that at seemed like a lot of games this weekend featured largely the same group of people, whereas previous ones have had a larger variety of people running/joining games.

That's a good point... I think you're right about that. I noticed that too.

This marathon had about same number of games as last marathon.

The one before that had about twice the number of games as this one.

I think there was also problem slightly w/ timing when it came to this one. School starts after labour day weekend, so.

I think Bins is right about timing. I didn't have time to participate in the past 2 marathon weekends like I would like. They both seemed to come up suddenly, and I already had plans for most of the weekend. Advance warning of more than a month might be better.

After Christmas/ before New Years is oftentimes a good time to do things. Many people have the time off from both work and school. unless you're taking a wintermester then ewwwww.

I can't speak to this past one as I was out of town, but in the past when we've had a bunch of marathon weekends run in a short time period it tends to reduce participation in the marathon weekends while still exerting a somewhat chilling effect on games.

Personally, I'd prefer marathon weekends to be 1) announced far in advance and 2) be run twice a year at most. They're fun, and I've run a ton of marathon games myself, but I think it's easy to overdo it. I like that doing them far apart concentrates people's interest in marathons.

That said, mith had a purpose in doing these I believe, so it's not like it's now policy to run a bunch of spur of the moment marathon weekends now.

Yeah, winter isn't a good way to say when it is. It's Autumn in Holland but it's winter elsewhere in the world. We really need a date.
