Pretty much any title wouldn't make sense to a new person though because they wouldn't know anything about this community.

I know
my point was that people are objecting to second commandment due to obscurity and people who don't know the joke not understanding, but many titles are already like that

Rando, why use a more obscure title 2bd Commandment) when we have a better title anyways (aka Idol Hands)?

FTFY ;)
No but really, Idol Hands is clunky and has no depth to it whatsoever in this situation. That title would fit someone who happens to find idols like they have obscene amounts of time on their hands and damn near effortlessly(looking at you Klick), it doesn't fit Shadow. It's not about the idols being fake or not. She's never used an idol correctly ever. And she has had fake idols because of Arkham City having fake idols. As well as just missing out on idols. The title needing a bit of explanation hasn't been an issue with titles before, and with this one in particular, it allows for sharing of some really funny stories and events. The Commandment isn't about false idols, it's just ANY idols.

Out of both suggestions, Second Commandment is the clunky one. Too many barriers to understanding, and sure, we want some opaqueness so that people ask about it and shit, but it needs to be easily understood without having to explain 3+ steps to Kevin Bacon yeah?

Idol Hands just works on multiple levels of a joke, has a lower barrier to entry and remains opaque enough to not be overt.

It's just superior, IMHO.

I prefer
Idol Hands
to Second Commandment, so that's the one I'll
accept
. . . tentatively. Idol Hands can be understood more quickly; like LLD said not only do you have to connect Shadoweh to Idols in Survivor, you also have to connect the second commandment to not worshiping any idols. Additionally, Christian denominations translate the commandment differently, so it's weird.

That being said, Idol Hands is good but I think there is something better out there. I love the Idol Bingo idea that has recently arose, that Shadoweh's accumulating interactions with idols in these games to fill out a card, lol. Like I almost like something simple like "Idol Bingo Regular" or something like that, because it additionally strays away from puns which I do think it's good to have some titles that aren't so punny. So yeah just random thoughts and maybe it's all frou-frou.

So Idol Hands in 48 hours if Shadoweh accepts and if nothing else arises. You know the deal!

Creature has been in so many games and has such a unique and distinctive way of playing and typing, I think it's a sin he is currently untitled.

Best suggestions I have are 'Unlynchable' or 'One Line Wonder', there's probably something out there that captures his style better though.

i agree especially because i love creature but i feel like he has to be on the site longer

dunno

like i'm not active on the discussion forums or sitechat and that seems to be where most people with titles are active and i dont really see creature as involved in that part of the community. i'm sure that bit isnt entirely true but i think my point comes across

but i'd like to be proven wrong tbh
i no longer strictly go by they/them and honestly prefer she/her but they/them's fine if you're used to it i guess

Well, 1) that's gimmick infringement and you'll be hearing from my attorney, but also 2) I guarantee if that was his title, people would try harder than ever to lynch him

Nobody gave a shit about trying to mislynch me until I started pointing out my track record.

I disagree with both "unlynchable" and "one line wonder"

titles should represent the title holder and those terms don't make me picture creature uniquely at all

I just don't feel the attitude should be "wow this user deserves a title let's think of an attribute of theirs which deserves one". At the very least, what part of the user should get the title should be fairly well-established before discussions on the exact title should begin.

I mean, I'm not an arbitrator so feel free to ignore me, but I feel that if a user doesn't have an obvious trait for the title, maybe it's better to wait until one is present rather than forcing a title out

I agree with this. I don't think this would be the first time a title nom got shut down because they were simply because "Person X deserves a title, let's think of one."

Having played a handful of games with Creature I will say that Unlynchable isn't really accurate and One Line Wonder applies to WAY too many players to be anything that is specifically distinctive for him.
