This game is set up to allow cheaters to win

Not being able to communicate with your teammates is bullshit too

It's not even a team game at all at that point

It's just a survivor game with a 95% "hope you don't get screwed" strategy and a 5% "know when to challenge" strategy, and if you challenge wrong based on the "free" version of one specific dictionary, you're screwed anyway

The only way not to get fucked over by cheaters is to cheat yourself

And I would rather replace out than do that

Here's this, for what it's worth:

I'm deeply sorry if you're not enjoying this game. We've really enjoyed having you the whole way through, especially during that first challenge where you seemed so excited. It's gotten to the point where everyone is so negative it's hard to feel like anyone is really enjoying this game, so I wanted to see if there's anything we can do to make this a more positive experience. For Ghost, we've been using one source to remain as objective as possible, and I'm sorry if you feel personally slighted.

I'm just feeling like this challenge is objectively not fun, fair, or secure.

Some of the other ones have been very fun, very fair, and very un-cheatable. If this is the one that I get knocked out on, then that'll just be a slap to the face, especially since I bit the bullet to save a sucky teammate. What source are you using? I just checked Merriam Webster (cheating, I know) and it says the word is there, just not in the free version. If there's multiple tiers of what's accepted then that's even worse.

This game specifically is just terrible. It was terrible in its large form and it's even worse in this condensed form. And there's no way to ensure people aren't cheating, or of making sure that the cheaters don't whip the pants off the non-cheaters, so that in itself is horrible.

Aren't there TONS of other choices of mish mash style games to play which don't make winning or losing a complete crapshoot based very little off one's own skill or effort, and which don't objectively reward cheaters and liars?

What is an atman

It's a word used in a card game I play, so, like others in this challenge, I took a risk, and played out the game. Going for the obvious, such as "atmosphere" would end up screwing over myself or my teammate, so far as I can tell, so it makes more sense to take a chance, and simultaneously expedite the game. I greatly resent allegations of cheating, however. Whether you were speaking of this game or any of the five other rounds running, I'm not sure, but this community (Mish-Mash itself), is, for the most part, wholly built on the honor system. To cheat on something like this not only would undermine the nature of the community itself, but it appears as though it would have few returns, if any, for the people cheating. To suggest that there's a systemic problem with cheating, and, simultaneously, that it's manifesting itself solely in this challenge, is foolhardy and misinformed at best, and at worst appears whiny and entitled.

As far as communication and the like goes, as someone who has run this challenge a few times, both here, and in other locations, allowing communication between team members regarding the challenge (or even between non-team members!) just doesn't work. it leads to a dull repetitious game that lacks any semblance of what makes a game dynamic. This format is incredibly varied, especially with some of the amendments to the rules that Xof and CC have made, and I commend them for their work in making this (among many other) challenge(s) both palatable to non-MM players and retaining the levels of difficulty and dynamicity that define what makes these games fun in the first place.
