For now, I want to say that the game wasn't supposed to end this way; I meant for a n:n situation with no voting manipulation in play to result in a scum win, but I have messed up the wincons, sorry.
I wouldn't feel too bad. The setup was still fun, and I also really enjoyed the flavor
Thanks for modding!
honestly, the surprise extra day where we got to kill one scum was really funny and fun, I'm glad it went that way!
Great game, bianco! Flavor was *chefs kiss*
Amazing job, scum! You deserved the win!!
Yes, I loved the flavour. Deserves a Paperback Writer nom imo if anyone's got time to write one.

The cat article was actually a reference to one of my first games on site.

ALL NIGHT ALL DAY! Their bloodlust, it's insatiable!
They only think about one thing and it's disgusting..........
Homicide.

In steps Isis "howdy partner" (that's her jailkeeper voice)
"Mind if I .... Take a look around?"
At this point I start to sweat. I think she notices the 17 food bowls on my kitchen floor. I can feel the eyes piercing me from every corner of the room. Some high, some low.
"What can I do for you this fine night?" It takes a minute but I finally stammer out a coherent sentence.
"Quite a.....full house you've got here."
Isis pays my question no mind as she toes one of the food bowls.
"They aren't here I swear! I was cat sitting for one day but ....but they're all gone! I promise!"
The sweat is starting to get into my eyes, I wipe them on my sleeve but the sting still sticks. My vision is blurry but I think I see one of the shadows move across the room.
"Well.....That's good to hear" Isis spits back. "Then I guess you won't mind if I..........pspspspspspspspspsps."
It was over in an instant. I could barely hear Isis' gurgling over the cacophony of hisses and claws shredding skin. Oh my God it was awful.
I looked down at the blood staining my shirt and there staring back up at me from my feet. A pair of the coldest eyes man has ever encountered, purring contently to themselves. As if to warn me .... I could be next.

... Okay i change my mind, it's insanely scumsided.
Hard agree. I haven't looked at the hidden info yet, but it was basically mountainous, which has only a 39.5% expected town winrate at an 11:2 ratio. Having it be 4:9 instead is just...
ouch
. Scum didn't have totally reliable nightkills but it certainly was good enough that it's far off of being a nightless. Only if town had done some off-the-wall strategy of picking the cheapest stuff to try to deny power to the scum would it approach being nightless, it seems. And town is
never
going to do that with the sparse and potentially false information that we were given.
Honestly, I found the setup rather discouraging (and I think that showed in my gameplay). As I mentioned, I had the feeling that the most obviously 'useful' options were going to have downsides that we couldn't properly evaluate. Maybe bastard games aren't for me, but it feels like town was being punished for trying to actually use the game mechanics instead of ignoring them as best possible.
Disclaimer, setup design is not my forte, but I have to agree with this. I thought the concept was cool and I really enjoyed the mechanic of town power being decided by public vote, but I'm not sure 4:9 was the best ratio for this. It felt like there was a lot of possibilities in the setup and a lot of room for development, but very little time for us to actually explore those possibilities or to really get anywhere mechanically. D3 was MeLo and we didn't even know it. I do think this could have worked better as a 10v3 or even as a large. I do also agree that the amount of scum information and power seemed disproportionate.

Yeah, after witnessing how it did play out, 4:9 was definitely not the correct ratio. 3:10 does feel to me like it would be notably townsided thou, town could potentially mislim 6 times and still win which does not sound right. Probably you are right this should have been a large to give you time to do stuff.
Tbf here if you nailed a scum D1 or D2 then there would have been quite a lot more breathing room, but the swing here is likely excessive
Good point about 10v3, I didn't consider that. And yes, things definitely could have gone differently if we'd actually hit scum. Each scum execution only gains a day though as far as I know, unless that works differently in setups without typical NKs?
