I offered to replace in on the assumption that my workday was gonna be approximately eight hours shorter than it was today, sorry for the delay in posting. I’ve got a couple hours before I need to go to bed, any advice on where to start?

Full disclosure, I did read some of the game prior to replacing in and I saw something about somebody making my slot not a Miller anymore. Should I be poking FL about non role related mod communication, cause I don’t think I got any notices about that.

Eh. Lawyer as a scum role with a fakeclaim that looks town is a viable boon creation. I don’t think lawyer is blacklisted in toonz.

The pushback on the elements lim followed by people listening makes me think town though.

I haven't noticed a bloc, not really. We did have a thing going where a wagon would form really really quickly and get halfway before fizzing out multiple times. But I don't think the players were always the same.
Interesting. I might do a vote history timeline tomorrow when I’m not in a bathtub, assuming I actually get spare time.

Nah, that was me publicly acknowledging and accepting FirePumba’s request to ISO there and build a spicy take while sharing initial impressions.

I’m on initial impressions for just about everyone, but I’ve done most of an iso and day 3 reading wise. I think I read like 40 pages trying to decide whether to replace in, but no notes and no real strong takes came from that, either.

Post range? Spurts of really good solve energy are usually gammatown, but what I saw was a lot of IIOA and shooting down attempts at solving. Not really a big fan of her approach to me joining the game either, but I haven’t read Maria to see if the townread is warranted.

I get that her confusion is genuine here, but there’s absolutely no functional difference between non FV town who gets accused of sending the fruit and non FV scum who gets accused of sending fruit. The townreads on that seem hollow at best and fake at worst.

I'm pretty flailing as town, and this also pings me. At some point in a game you do just kind of have to dive in whether you're wrong or not. I actually didn't noticed you'd been vote parking, and it's odd to me that you pressed the person you vote parked on for a reason for them...voting you back? Without providing a better reason for voting than this? I don't think it's unreasonable to question this even though you got a bit ruffled by it.

Sure Skyg, and I actually agree with you. But it’s also NAI as fuck. Like, if I come out and say “skyg is town, the mod gave me a friendly neighbor message for them last night” you’re gonna be confused as fuck regardless of your alignment because you’ll be reacting to the knowledge that you DIDNT send the message. Town you and scum you have the same thought process there, so there’s not going to be a difference in reaction.

You can maybe pull out that gamma isn’t scum with a FV who sent the fruit to drew, but that’s… not super helpful hunting wise

I can accuse you of breaking into my house and leaving behind 20 grand. It’s a valid usage. Counter to its connotations, maybe, but definitely valid.

The point is though, that if I accuse you of breaking into my house and leaving me twenty grand, you’ll be just as confused whether you broke in and stole my tv or didn’t even know I had a house.

Would you expect alianna to be a read-by-post count style player?

Is she significantly more talkative as town or scum? Why can’t her relative engagement be affected by alignment due to the presence of a hydra partner?

@Bold

I can definitely grok why Maria thought Merlyn was scum. There’s a bit of stuff I want to look at again in terms of context, but she seemed very passive and lukewarm on the first two days. She’s definitely picked up steam as time went by, and I’m pretty confident she’s not S/S with Gamma.

It was a vague impression based on posts like these, Gamma. I need to go back and look at your iso again after getting a more solid read, but your approach to my entrance felt like an attempt to pocket and skimming your iso did not lend confidence.

As far as shading you, I assume you’re talking about the townreads based on you not being a fruit vendor, which is way more about whether other people are actually interested in your alignment or just talking out of their collective asses than about your alignment itself. I don’t think not being a fruit vendor makes you scum or undermines your arguments at all.

Hmmm. This is interesting, vote wise. Ele votes Ali, then all the town players who had been voting Ele jump to Alisae. I don't think Ele/Tanuki are S/S based on this, and the fact that literally every flipped player is at play here makes me think this wagon is pure town. I'll probably be voting not Ele on the back of this.

So far, the feeling that there are a bunch of mass wagon hops is supported, but it's mostly like, STD/Drew/Gimli/Fire, which.... Yeah. Not all that surprising.

I haven't gotten to a part of the game where much mechanically interesting has happened. I'm aware that there is some potential mechanical dichotomy of failed actions/desperate claims, but I don't have enough knowledge at the moment to weigh in on whether claiming is useful. I'm also aware that there are supposedly two different desperates.

Personally leaning on voting ccs over you atm, and if you don't have to claim you shouldn't.

Only checked mine, but I voted for Elements on the 8th and it's not on there
Noted, but I'm not really worried about it being exhaustive or anything. I'm just keeping track of individual voting trends as I read. It'd be a hell of a lot faster if I was doing it by just cntrl-f ing vote, but I'm reading for context and just kinda doing this in the background.

VOTE: HPE

I actively disagree that NKA is incriminating against it, but none of its posting gives me any inkling of town. I’d prefer HuTao or CCS but I’m no where near current enough to try to strong arm a lim with less than a day before deadline.

WRT scum wanting to claim/not wanting to claim, I vaguely jive with the argument in a general sense, but it’s also possible scumTheta had a planned claim that has since become non viable. I don’t want to lim theta today, regardless.

No. In order for there to be a groupscum arsonist or poisoner, balance wise, we’re looking at a 2p scumteam with the amount of apparent power.

There’s a very simple reason tanuki hasn’t been killed if town: they’re clearly a setup tent pole which means there’s probably some method of keeping them alive.

Massclaim is either today or tomorrow, I think. I’ll finish my catch-up tonight.

i think he said yes earlier

demillerizer would count as a miscellaneous action, i would think
Irrelevant, NAR resolves powers that affect other powers first. So unless the investigate specifically said that it was priority resolution if this is NAR then the cop would get a non Miller result on the night of a demillerization.

Booneytoonz doesn’t require NAR, hence the ask.

god are we actually dealing with an arson-like mechanic
No. Arsonist is a very overpowered scumkill mechanic. Arsonist + factional kill requires a truly ridiculous amount of town power to balance.

It means, arguably, that we could help solve the game with flavor, but ultimately it is an effort to outguess the mod. And boon isn’t willing to take the blame if we fail miserably in doing so. I’m ignoring the flavor, because that’s a trap.

Not. It makes the game into “does scum kill the only role that makes scum not OP as fuck.” Which is shit game design. It be like a N4 universal public cop.

As far as theta/hu Tao role symmetry, there is at most one groupscum in theta/tanuki/hu Tao. They may all be town.
