Open Queue is dying Help

I don't like the closed setup games, so I'm sticking with the newbie and open queues for awhile. I plan to sign up for the first open game that fits into my schedule, not too big, and is recognizably a mafia game. Been looking for awhile now.

I can't tell if that's playfully sarcastic or serious. If serious, semi-opens are also awesome!

I can't find the stepping stone from the newbie games to the normal games. I know lots of players like the complex closed setups because they're understandably bored with the simpler setups, but from my POV, the normals range anywhere between a very basic game to a very complex game using combinations of roles and modifiers that are designed to take very advanced players by surprise. Players can't even plan to play a game on a targeted level because it's a crap shoot what you're going to get when you sign up.

Maybe the open queue was moving slow because signups were paused for 14 weeks when a few games simply didn't attract enough players.

As for getting players into the Open queue, we need new setups and themier setups to be approved open setups.

And we need more semi-opens.

What's wrong with themeier Opens? Currently, themed games must be restricted to one or two queues (can't remember if it's coney island and theme park or just theme park), and those games seem to never contain open or semi-open setups.

Part of the objective of a forum like this is to attract and maintain new players to keep things fresh. So while open or semi-open games may feel like mafia on easy mode for some people, they may be the right speed for others.

I feel like a broken record here.
