My Emotional Stability

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Tue Feb 18, 2003 10:52 am

Post by Bobacino »

Lately I have found that Mafia is making me very excited. I log on to MafiaScum.net with my old dial-up modem and visit the Mafia game I'm playing knowing full well that there is a reply waiting for me.

And then I get dissappointed because the replies generally seem to lack punch. I am lead to beleive that this is the curse of Day 1.

Someone please give me some advice as to how to get the game going so that I don't keep arriving at the game with dissappointment. It's becoming quite a drain on my emotional stability.

Sebastian.

Advice: spice things up by claiming to be mafia who's sick of the life and wants to go straight. Offer to finger your mafia buddies to prove you're sincere...

Seriously, day one's always difficult. And it doesn't help that we have several infrequent posters in #25.

I laughed out loud when I read your post. I wonder could anyone take a person seriously if they did that? It would definately spice it up, even if I ended up pleading for my life for the rest of the game :)

Advice: Do not try to get the game going, because it usually leads to your own bandwagon ;).

AMEN! I have tried a few times to spice a game, using numerous tactics on day 1. Most of these attempts led to me being lynched (i.e. Mini 16, Normal 6) or to me being forced to claim my role so that I was not lynched (for example: Trouble in Haiti).

This is not a good situation! The better thing to do is to join me in a campaign to change the entire psychology of the game, so that instead of becoming a target, the verbose player is seen as the game liven-upper that he truly is!

Advice noted. Patience is a virtue. I just need to learn it.

Actually, it was completely random.

It was a simpler time.

Trolling was a virtual unknown before 2005. Not so much a simpler time, but a more honest one.
