1: Post actively. (Preferably content-filled posting, though that's optional.) Once a day minimum is ideal.

2: Bus conservatively. Bussing's overrated.

(Bonus: Treat your scumbuddies like any other player, not as your scumbuddies. Don't ignore them, don't attack them, and don't defend them just because they're your scumbuddies; if you do any of those, have reasons.)

3: If you're attacked? Use AtE and self-meta.

4: If someone calls you out on the AtE/self-meta, laugh at them. (A "lol" should suffice.) You are now unlynchable.

5: If for some reason this fails and you are under pressure, prematurely claim VT. (At best it 'clears' you of being mafia, at worst it launches the town into a pointless MD theory debate about VT claims during which your scumbuddies can blend in and bus you.)

6: ...Unless you're actually close to a lynch, in which case you claim to be a PR.

You will never lose as scum again.

Not in my experience. Under current site meta, at least. Yeah, maybe two+ months ago, but because 3-5 are being done increasingly by town (I've seen them in almost every single game I've been playing), players are growing increasingly resistant to lynching players who do it.

I'm not saying that's the way it should be, but I am saying that's the way it is.

Yeah, the way you do these things totally won't be different as scum and town.

Also "every game" is fairly wrong, it'll probably increase your scum win % for a bit, but if you have to claim VT prematurely a lot you're probably not a very strong scum player as it might work the grand total of once.

This is like one of the number 1 thing that aggravates me in a mafia game. VT claims shouldn't save anyone, and even when you go as far as to take a stance of lynching the player anyway, the town will go and push someone else to do it, and before long you have 3 claimed vanilla townies as lynch choices. Then you wonder why you were so stupid to actually sign up for that particular game.

Also in response to Mastin's list. If you DON'T lynch people for doing the things he listed, you only have yourself to blame when the town loses.

It says premature claims, to be fair which is a tad different.

I mean if someone claims VT at l-5 I'm not going to vote them just because of that, it may stop a bit of momentum of the wagon temporarily - which is natural. Auto lynching people for claimiong vt is worse, anyway. Probably best to be flexible about these things and just judge on their play.

Premature VT claims only work for newbies who are displaying high emotion. For an experienced player, even one who was noted for displaying high emotion, it

Lots of things that are dumb shouldn't work. I tried to coach kiwieagle pregame to fakeclaim vt early/mid day 1 in a game once, it worked really nicely. Then he got lynched (and was allowed to claim again for some reason)
