a) there's only 1 in the deck of 118 possible roles
b) how is it any more overpowered than a Cop in a regular game of mafia?

the anti-town factions should have to work to find the other scum; not just sit back and relax

how big are the normal game sizes for greater idea?

Again, I feel you could use this argument against any investigative role. And I don't think it's gonna make any of the
scum
relax; they're the ones who're gonna get caught by it. And the town need a bit of recompense for being up against so many scum factions (which weakens all the other investigative roles); and there are still a couple of millers; and the Bloodhound still needs to target the right people; and it's not going to be in the game often.

Usually 6 - 7 players on Skype. 9 players on forums, 9 players at the UK meet. And I'd imagine that bigger games were played at the Balto meet, but I'm not sure.

Do the millers count as not-town to bloodhounds?

I think we played a few double-digit games of Greater and Greatest Idea at Balto.

It works with any number, once it starts getting 13+ it starts getting absurd to mod.

In the next ten years somebody needs to come up with a Mafia Modding Machine. Comes with machine and like 20 "controllers" where you just type night action and send it, night would occur like 20 times as fast. I'd buy it instantly.

Alternatively and more reasonably, someone make a modding machine website, where people all join a room and submit actions virtually. The problem with this one is laptops would be a must at meets. But hey I think it'd be better than 30 minute nights.

It'd still not be "quick". Everyone submits an action (which okay, everyone needs an individual laptop? Seems unlikely, so some are shared and you have to wait). Then okay you wait for the results. It'll still take quite a while as you'll need a mafia "open their eyes" for their kill discussion. But yeah, quicker but still "slower" than a regular game.

Why would you need a laptop? Smartphone app with NFC.

There is a modding app available for iphones: http://www.koryheath.com/werewolf/

It doesn't use NFC though; you all need to take turns inputting night actions to the same phone, so it's not especially quick. I still like it though, it's a decent way to run mod-less small games when you don't have cards handy, and it does have some capacity for semi-open setups. Also, in order to ensure everyone gets a pretend 'night action', villagers have to input who they most think is a werewolf, so you can check accuracy for bragging rights after the game.

The flipside to one of the questions I asked earlier, although I feel pretty safe in assuming this one is a no:

6) Does a currently-town-aligned Judas/Saulus show up as evil to Cop/Bloodhound?

If there were a smartphone app that worked on my laptop I'd be fine with that.

I imagine, functionally a miller to a town rolecop.

Or maybe, miller to an insane cop, depending on how you handle godfathers in relationship to insane cops. (There are two trains of thought: "Godfather always shows up as (literally) innocent", and "Godfather shows up as the result a town player would return". In the latter, a godfather would show up as a guilty to an insane cop, because that's what a town player would show up as. In the former, the godfather would show up as an innocent, which is the scum result for an insane cop to receive. So under this definition, a town godfather would be a town miller to the insane cop.)

Seeing as there isn't a town (or any) rolecop in the current Greater Idea deck (too much of a hassle for face-to-face games), we basically just used it as a named townie. There was talk of giving cops two innocent results if they investigated the Town Godfather for the lols. :giggle:

Good guy Xdaamno

brings up all these ideas about Great Idea, Greatest Idea, Cracking Idea, etc.

But doesn't mention his own underappreciated ScumDeck :)
