Brainstorming the best way you can screw over another player/get revenge for entertainment. Pick one or add your own.

You as town, your target as scum:

1) Lynch them D1 and figure out their buddies through interactive tells and lynch them all on subsequent days.

You as scum, your target as town:

1) Endgame them.
2) Mislynch them D1 after they catch you.
3) Mislynch them while they are absolutely convinced that you are town.
4) Let them lead lynches on a bunch of townies until they self-destruct and set them up to be lynched in LYLO.
5) Lynch them after they get a cop guilty on you and get away with it after they are dead.

Name your own and make it graphic and violent.

Town players should

never

be thinking about getting revenge against a player. (Okay, outside the RVS, at least. Venge-voting in the RVS, nice friendly way to open up the game.) EVER. Because know what that does? That incites bias against the player in question. For instance, the listed case of lynching them on D1 and nailing their scumbuddies? That's not revenge, that's

playing to your wincon

. And doing a dang-good job at it. If a town player thinks that they're getting revenge against a player, then what they're really doing is confbiasing against that player.


Scum players, on the other hand? Feel free to have fun. I've endgamed an innocent child. I've managed to get a mislynch after having been pegged by the player, multiple times. (In fact, it's one of my favorite scum tactics!) Twist the dagger in by mislynching them when they have your trust. All the myriad of different ways to troll players are things that I love to think about. I actually described my process quite well in the last QT of Antihero's Paranoia. I made it so that I could get revenge against AP and actually beat him (again--the last time before that being Mindreader Mafia), and also beat GreyICE. ('Coincidentally', both games made heavy usage of QTs as an integral mechanic of the game. I'm deadly-competent with them, which is one reason why basically every scum win of mine has had daytalk. I know how to get my mileage out of QTs as either alignment, but especially as scum, I know how to manipulate them to my favor.)

Note, though, that to me? Revenge is not the goal; winning is. Winning that just so happens to be accomplished WITH revenge, though, is truly a beautiful sight to be seen.
