I actually agree that two separate games should at least be considered. Large games take so much out of you, it's harder to keep track of everybody, and it's so easy to fall behind...

Willing to play in either, but I know I'd be happier in a smaller game (12-16) over a larger game (17+).

We did get more than expected however splitting it into two games kind of defeats the purpose of the whole thing...
Mostly retired. Unless you ask or it's something interesting.

I mean, any game with DG, PJ, and Glork is a game I want in on. Then again, I usually hate games larger than 15 players. I'm so conflicted.
Heya MBF, how come you always manage to be late to these things? ;)

I empathize with people who worry about the size of the game, but breaking it up into smaller games kind of goes against the spirit of the idea. I want to play with
all
of you again!

Game length could be tweaked on the set-up end, i.e. by making it multi-faction and openly declaring it as such.

Having just gotten out of a 20-something person, 1 scum team, normal game, it wasn't bad or hard to keep track of how I felt about folks. And it only took 3 months.

I'm down with that sort of game and schedule.

Having already made a good start on making the setup and role PMs, and submitting it for review etc, I'd prefer to stick to what we have.

MBF, if you prefer smaller games, maybe signing up as a replacement would be good. I could contact you when we have a decent number of dead bodies and someone needs replacing.

Sure, I'll /in as a replacement. If any other oldies want to create a smaller game together, we can co-ordinate and hobble over to the mini normal queue to do a mass signup.

I expect this won't be as 'bad' as you think. Oldbies had a lighter posting style overall, but with more modern deadlines.

I didn't think there was any game that could lure me out of retirement, but this has gotten really close. Sadly, I simply don't think I can manage to put enough time in it, especially with the way my life is right now, and not for the number of months this game would call for. I'm sorry. Maybe next time.

I did the /in to replace for the same reasons mike did and because I have not played in awhile, and will be out of town early June. Coming late into the game should suit me better

Aw. :(

Understandable though and it was nevertheless a pleasure to see you again around these parts!

Can this game please have a spectator QT?
QTs might not have been popular until 2009, but they were around in 2008 at the very least! :(

Depends on whether 2008 counts or not.
If it does, theoretically, yes, I could.
If it doesn't, no, because Mastin joined in October 2008.

...But that said. Even if I could play, I'd think it best for me not to.
1: Other players on the replacement list are cooler older players that deserve in more than I do.
2: My play is far closer to the current site meta than the older site meta.
3: Plus my life and game load means no guarantees I'd even be able to play that well.

Thus, I'm probably much better as a spectator.

I guess Patrick can do the honors? That way he can control who has access to the spectator chat so as to not ruin his potential replacement pool?
