forum mafia afaik originated on greylabirinth

at the very least this site was spawned from GL I know 100%

and the reason i joined this site was because there were no other alternatives for an active forum mafia community. And there's no serious mafia games being played with any skill anywhere else. There really was zero legit competition for this site a few years ago. I'm not sure if that has changed or not.

I think Junpei should make a thread where he explains just what skillful mafia play consists of.

Probably refusing to vote anyone because every other person is just simply so scummy and not good at playing mafia.

no shit posts (if you need to know what a shitpost is i can point you to some of my past games - I've encountered some epic town shitposters.

there's a lot of things that maek you a shit mafia player. MoI and Regfan were two of the best players on this site, and they used structured arguments founded on good reasoning. Using well grounded reasoning and being able to differentiate between red herrings and truth = good mafia player.

In general if you're an illogical nerdy mess in real life (Majiffy can describe this type of person a lot more I'm sure) you will suck at this game.

Would you mind pointing out a selection of shitposts that range from extremely blatant to more subtle? I think that everyone should learn to recognize them for what they are, and for that we the people need a large initial sample size to work with to identify the prevalent patterns that shitposts and their relevant shitposters follow.

@Junpei: What you linked to just looks like people having fun.

Mafia is a game. It's not serious business. We're all here to have fun as far as I know; I haven't heard of any major world conflicts that depend on the outcome of the games here.

What you seem to be saying is, "People play in a more casual way than I prefer." That surely can be true, but it doesn't mean they are wrong and you are right. I prefer more casual and silly play myself. It doesn't make me right and you wrong. It's just a matter of opinion. They say everyone has one :)
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

Faraday: MoI probably stopped caring for the same reason I stopped caring.

Bookitty: I already have said in this thread that I'm not saying that more serious mafia player is RIGHT, I just said that it is what I prefer. And since it is not the way anyone here really plays anymore, I don't like to play here. Next person to repeat Bookitty's sentiment isn't getting a response since that would be the third time.

It seems to me that if you get more subtle than slightly-subtle shitposting, it becomes more and more valid as a posting tactic.

I think that is what Om was going for, except for the complete lack of subtlety involved. He seems to be developing a meta around being mentally unbalanced as town (as he was in the game you linked).

Out-of-context, the empking links look like a personal vendetta as-presented. A quick iso reveals he seems to have been posting 1 liners for most of the game.

I had a conversation with a friend and he feels that our registration button isn't prominent enough.

8:35 PM - tn5421: moreso than any other skinned-but-generic phpbb3 installation, at any rate
