Now, I'm fairly sure that what happened in the actual game (not outing and final self voting at LYLO along with the final scum) was not optimal (there may be a little teensy weensy bit of sarcasm there...) but I'd be interested to get people's thoughts on what good play would have been? My instinct would be to out on Day 1, but wondered what others' thoughts were?
(It wasn't clear from the role reveals whether it was only lynching that would line up the day in mourning or not, but I am guessing so, as the GM didn't say it was modified).
I would personally out myself as beloved princess D1, similar to proper play for other negative-utility town roles like Miller / PGO / Supersaint. The possible alternative option is "play well enough to get NK'd," but that's a pretty big gamble.
The person in question had no idea what the role did, so it was a bit of a SNAFU.
Is there any way to play it positively, or are you just doomed? The player in question is an excellent choice for scum to keep till LYLO as town, so I guess in this context claiming day 1 would probably have been best.

Since you drew one of the worst negative utility roles, it is probable that town PRs are beefier than usual. (or it could also indicate a weakened scum team)
Revealing Beloved Princess early also allows more accurate setup specs from town PRs, and lets the VTs guess the scum team size easier.
That would assume a sane mod. Keep in mind your mod chose to include a beloved princess, so they're less likely sane and more likely cackling about having the role in the game.

in the same game, there was a scum roleblocker that was secretly suicidal that died at the end of day 2 no matter what but we didn't know about it until the end of the game
I don't think she had a clue. Dunno about now as I'm avoiding the game forum but TBF I hadn't parsed the extra town bloc either, even after reading the deadboard, and it was doing my head in. I'd POEd you as the missing blocker, so you shouldn't have NKed me.

fun stuff
That was very odd. Zuzu and I had figured on the deadboard that it was a vengeful state of her diplomat town role, or modification thereof. But it wasn't and it seemed to be deep in the guts of the flavour.
The GM missed a trick by not posting a PDF link, I would have been all over that.
(can I swear here or will people yell at me? I swear lots normally so checking)
This particular site doesn't really distinguish, so it's a great smorgasbord of whatever you will get this time, and quite a lot of them it's peculiar. It would be great for them to play a ton of mountainous or open IMO.
