Recommend me a simple mafia game please!

OK, so I am trying to

draw in

corrupt a new player into mafia on another site - he is spectating an incredibly complex game and is not unreasonably confused.

Are there any small, simple set up, lowish volume posts but really good games to read that stick in folks' minds? A good newbie or micro would be ideal I am thinking.

I could have sworn I saw a thread like this but I am not finding it. Apologies if this duplicates and thanks in advance

I would suggest a Newbie or something in the Open queue where the roles are laid out. Micros can be fun, but unless there is a known setup being run, they can be really swingy and have all kinds of new mechanics.

also yes, a simple, decent game, that doesn't have too much weirdness or flakes or crap play or replace outs. A good suggestion or two for a game I could point someone completely new to forum mafia to read. The complex set up of what they are reading has terrified them I think, and I'd like a game or two with simple structure that would be good for a complete newbie to read, hence not a random dive into Road to Rome. Make sense?

Road to Rome will have a LOT of replacements. Newbies really aren't that great to read. I would suggest any of the games in New York. Those are normals. I was in NY 172 and it was a good game with solid play all around.

ok that's probably the worst example i could have given you. i just had really good memories about that game. it was easy to read for me i guess and easy to follow but maybe not. I'll give more later.

Imp decided to intro him by spectating the Stargate mountainous dual universe game, it's not going well. I need sane and normal games for him. The people on the site are doing the usual lurk the hell out of it thing so no data there, I will point him at that

My old Tit for Tat good might be pretty good for someone trying to learn
-it does have a relatively high # of replacements but it's less than 30 pages for a 12 player setup
-it's an open setup that has a pretty decent amount of scumhunting
-a mafia counterclaims a town power role claim in the last day, and seeing that might help a lot with getting a handle of what scum can do to really push town hard and a sense of why it makes sense to do that because if they pulled it off they would win the game that day. (and they did)

Sweet! Thanks everyone for your contributions. I think he's just decided point blank he doesn't get it, but he did at least have a read of some of the suggestions before coming to that conclusion. Ach well. Can't catch them all
