In my very first completed game on site a player's avatar (he's changed it since) was so aggressive that I was sure he was scum. I was wrong.
(Of course I'm wrong a lot anyway, regardless of avatar, but in that case I was absolutely driven in my thinking by the avatar screaming at me.)
Fuck LOL. Same thing happened on this account too. I just suck at choosing avatars.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that this guy has been burned as town by a girl with a cute avatar buddying the hell out of him before.
Oto and cc, you misunderstand. It's not whether you can successfully imitate a posting style of the female gender; I'm not sure whether such posting style even exists.
Rather, it's more of posting in a certain style/personality geared to certain people who find such posting style and/or personality enjoyable. The posting style described by Elbirn in 20 is an example of posting style that may come off as "feminine" and enjoyable to some people. I would imagine that a better example would be found in the Purple Rose ISO, if you're interested.
And no, I never encountered a female player posting like that either.
I doubt people would actually believe that the player is a girl, but I can certainly imagine people being thoroughly entertained, maybe to the point where it starts to affect their read on the player.
Maybe Subservience to Protocol isn't tantamount to Solution to Problem ...

No matter how high the stakes, sooner or later you're just gonna have to go with your gut.
And maybe, just maybe, that'll take you right where you were supposed to be.
