Alt accounts

I have two alts, both of which are gimmicks:

kuribo the white- my non-raging alt that didn't last long with that gimmick
Erotic Tales of kuribo- my alt that posts only in the form of erotic stories

I also have a couple of hydras: Serotonin (with GreyICE), Hammer Bros (Quilford), Heaven and Hell (pirate mollie), Serene (DGB and Fate), Serene2 (DGB and Fakegod), and Three-Pronged Trouser God (Untrod Tripod and T-Bone)

And that one hydra that we never got to use.

I have a moral code that when I do play a newbie game on an alt, I only play in a slot that my actual account would be able to play. This often means I have to replace into newbies as an alt if I want to play newbies.

Your moral code is the same as site rules, so well done!

I got no problem with people that play as alts as long as they are not ban evading

I can think of one example where a mod and a secret (I think it was secret?) alt were alive in a game together, but I probably can't reveal it because the mod was playing with a secret alt too!

Can a game mod do that?

I know if you have game experience requirements you may want to know a main account so that you know an alt is qualified, but that requires the alt to reveal. As far as I know a mod doesn't have any kind of special power to actually look that up.

If a game doesn't have an experience requirement, a mod should not be asking for alt identities period.

Claiming to be a newbie is borderline unethical. When I make alts, I make sure to play them in a manner where my experience is left ambiguous, and if asked, I come up with a way to say, "I have some."

Claiming to be just an alt or a single person when a hydra IS unethical and borderline illegal.
...Claiming to be a hydra when it's just you as an alt, though, is just being stupid.
(Yes, I am guilty of this. Not my proudest moment.)

I made an alt for the first time a while back. I enjoyed the fresh start it gave me and may make more over the summer.

Naturally not.

As a guideline, I never respond to questions about what alts may be mine, and vice-versa, don't answer questions about who my main would be. (Guideline, not rule, though.)

To demonstrate, I'm kinda sorta breaking the rule by talking about Mortal Kombat Mafia.
The cursed Palisade hydra was in fact a legitimate hydra. Just one that was eternally cursed to have its members abandon the game and leave a singular head driving. Including Mortal Kombat, where it was me as an alt, but I still FAKED having my partner around.

I found it was a good way to get all my confidence back, bc I had made it after a string of games where I generally played pretty bad and I wound up completely destroying the scum team the first time I used it. other than that, it was useful bc I was able to try out a different kind of playstyle and not have anyone question it.

IMO thats something you should get force-replaced from a game for doing. Either do it and reveal to the thread or don't do it at all. (or do what chamber did and replace out yourself)

Game mods cannot do so unless they had that information revealed to them by the player. Listmods can (as well as Discussion Mods). They shouldn't be doing that to specifically gain an advantage in the game and should replace out if they did do that, but checking people's alts is something that is absolutely necessary to performing the duties of those jobs. I know lots of people's alt account identities just from the course of my job as an admin and my past one as a listmod. It's possible in the future I'll end up in a game with an unknown alt. That's potentially unfair, but in an environment with secret alts, that's how it has to be.

Consider that some people know the identities to secret alts while others don't. Let's say in scum chat the secret alt mentions it off-hand. In a future game, the secret alt is in it with the person who knows the secret alt's identity. Should that person be forced to leave the game? Should he or she reveal the information to everyone? It's certainly not a level playing field.
