I'm curious to know what you think are the most enjoyable aspects of mafia. What was it about your most memorable games that made them so memorable?

The puzzle and race against time to figure everything out before you lose. I find it to be so much fun as games near their end and all your suspicions/feelings about people come together.

weird roles that require creativity to use
You're not going to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. S*Gaiden will not make long cases, write stunning insights, or sugar coat his words. He is not the man for multi-paragraph eloquence. He is, however, being honest to a fault, and it comes across in his writing.

I think my favourite thing about mafia is the opportunity to see how a person's brain works and understand them as an individual. I like it when pple drop the veneer and you begin to see the player behind the screen as a person with an intrinsically different way of looking at things the way that you do. that's just really valuable to me.

I also like winning tho. also what ut said.

I like the end game snuggles after it's over and we all destress and stop yelling at each other and be friends again and compliment the person we were yelling at 2 pages ago.

I also like watching more experienced people and trying to figure out what they're doing and sometimes understanding. I know I should be asking people why they are doing things to be figuring out their alignment but a lot of the time I just like to watch them and try to figure it out and I feel like asking in the moment would spoil it.

my second newbie game just finished and I really liked the synergy that developed between me and another player who I'd known from a previous game. we were able to figure out that we were both town and we were about to communicate better with each other as a result.

I also like sheeping people from other games, for example in my second game a few times I sheeped somebody[1] from my first game[2]. It's like all the benefits[3] of sheeping without the downsides[4].

[1] who wasn't playing in the second game, I just used some words of theirs or some techniques I'd learned from them
[2] which was completed before my second started
[3] copying someone who knows what they're doing when you don't
[4] you know the alignment of the person you were sheeping, you're not making them or yourself look bad, etc.

those are the parts that are the most fun for me.
