Mmm, no. Alts are inherently unfair.

Outing secret alts is not cool though.

modding takes way less work than playing a game once the setup and flavor is all fully specified

How about bulletproof investigation-immune goons?

I have zero complaint about that. Godfather is pretty much lying to your players and will auto-lose a game for town if investigated.

An op goon is just *shrug* in comparison.

If anything the goon would be stronger given rolecop immunity.

Actually, Investigation-Immune scum do return innocent results. It's just a nomenclature thing, since it'd be weird to call a serial killer a godfather.

I do a list containing all players, and then a separate list of dead players. It works.

it is also nice to have links to various things like day starts, day ends, some vcs

Eh, links don't hurt. You can even fit them into the alive/dead list if you want, like this, instead of having a separate section. That example doesn't account for days that open without a kill, but that'd be easy to fix.

Votecounts are probably overkill, though.

(Also, that OP doesn't bother with spoiler tags, which most games do use these days. Not sure if that's just convention or a thing that people feel strongly about.)

So like I believe you

But that is absolute bullshit how does "immune" mean "it gives incorrect results". It should just fail. That or rename it to something less misleading

And yeah mods not updating the op are my #1 pet peeve. Like I feel like most mods do it for a day or two and then go "fuckit". If I'm reading an old game I want to be able to look at the op and see a summary of what happened/who won.

Not even as a lazy thing on my part, just...damn do I like organization and completeness it makes my ocd so very happy

Both, I think. Sometimes people try to read games and guess along, and the first post is really easy to click and spoil yourself on.

By the way, it'd be helpful if mods would put the fully up to date alive/dead list in the first post, not in a post below that. That makes it much easier to search for games where a specific role was used.

Your players probably don't care about this. It's not a huge deal, but I'm not really sure where else to ask for it.

No, I agree with you on that. If there's anything immediately important that isn't in the first post, it's a pretty big turn-off.

I had a player using an alt in my game, and when he saw there were other alts, he asked to replace with his main account. I told him if he did, I would have to inform the players that it was an account switch and not an actual replacement, so he decided against it (and ended up alt slipping anyway lol). Would that have been acceptable?
