Accidentally Posting As Yourself As A Hydra....

We've all been there before..... at least I hope...

How do you guys react when you post as yourself when you should have posted as a hydra.... in game.

It feels so embarrassing lol....

i embarrassed but i quote it right away from within the hydra saying "whoops" or "god fucking damnit i was doing so well" or just naked quoting and saying nothing at all.

it gets easier with practice. I have one browser I use for my main and one browser I use for my hydrae and that makes it a little easier not to slip.

I use a different skin for my hydras than my main account. That works well.

I only ever get to my ongoing games through my "View your posts" page, so I'd imagine if I had another account it would be pretty hard for me to altslip.

I've done it before a few times. I just quote it as the hydra and say this is me and that's about it. It's not that big of a deal unless you do it a lot-that might annoy the mod then.

Basically this. It's just a mistake. Don't repeat it 100 times (*cough*wguerts*cough*), but it's not that big deal if it happens a couple of times. Just quote, apologize, and move on.

By the way, Yosarian, by any chance did you ever post on a site called SotF? It was a writing/roleplaying site with a story based very loosely on Battle Royale?

I remember seeing someone with what I'm pretty sure was exactly the same name there.

Don't think so.

It was amusing, one time on reddit someone mentioned catch 22 and 6 different people with names that were different variants of Yossarian all responded. It's oddly common.

I don't have any alts or hydras (yet). Thus, I've never altslipped! (Closest I've got is coming close to referring to myself with a username from a different site.)

As a mod, I have a rule that alt/hydra-slips must repeat the post from the account they should have posted on (for ISOs and the like). However, it's proved somewhat hard to enforce.

I've never slipped. I have no idea how you guys do it. Every single time I have to post in a hydra I sign out and sing in that hydra. It never happens any other way. I kinda want to slip to see how it feels, but it never happens.

For stealth hydras, I don't believe I've ever seen Copper slip. Still not sure who exactly make up that hydra.

we never did slip in game! which was a pretty cool record because we did quite a few games.

I did sort of reverse-slip once in GD (posting in a game thread as Copper), but I deleted it right way.

Since the site is so inimical to secret hydrae these days and we'd probably have to claim it to do another game, I'll just say Copper is a hito/RedCoyote hydra. NOW YOU KNOW

I've actually always wondered how this happens. I've only ever hydra'd with two people, but I've never altslipped and I've almost always had at least one active alt.

This is probably why I don't have any trouble. I use bookmarks for mafia games and view your posts for all other threads.
