There's no fix to lurkers or replacements. It's sort of like how there's no fix to conversion mechanics.

camn, did you see ? (Sorry for being insistent if you were ignoring it intentionally.) It feels like a good concrete example of what you were going for, whilst removing any actual incentive for getting modkilled (as you can trigger the beneficial effects intentionally if you like). I'd be interested to know your opinion on it.

I did!
It was too complicated for my mind.
Plus I thought it kind of inserted LEAVING the game as tactically advantageous..which is totally 180 from what I wanna achieve.

But it could be filed under "Other Atypical Mechanics"
If you could name it after something from mario cart.. that would rule.

Right, it's not so much a "mechanic you put in regular games to deal with replacements" as a "mechanic for a one-off Theme that happens to deal with the problem of replacements neatly, but doesn't apply elsewhere".

In terms of a Mario Kart name, you'd really want something hugely self-destructive that also hurt those around you, and Mario Kart doesn't have much of those. It has the strategy of intentionally dropping to eighth to get better items (likewise, the strategy of not blowing up balloons in Mario Kart DS), but those don't have catchy names. It has Mushrooms, which can be used to attack but often backfire hilariously if you try to do so, but they have a much simpler and better use.

I guess the best analogy is the mechanic from 3/4 player battle mode in Mario Kart GBA which allows defeated players to explode, generally sowing chaos. Let's call this the Bob-Omb Mechanic.
