Because someone once wrote a scene in a scummies which involved me and the person who had recently written a post about me mocking me for performing CPR on my dying father in a scummy scene and because I then asked to not be included in them and that hasn't been honored? Yeah. Totally unreasonable on my part. I can't believe he has to put up with that.

I wrote your parts in the Scummies, TSQ. What I can do at this point is edit you out of them if you want, apologize for including you in the first place (I didn't remember you asked not to be included in them), but that's it. Nothing that I wrote was intended maliciously.

I don't think that's particularly reasonable, no, but I think that it also stifles creativity (this Scummies ceremony was written pretty last minute and PMing all members and asking whether they wanted to be included or not would have made getting the Scummies out to be a hell of a hassle); do you think that asking people to PM us if they don't want to be mentioned in the Scummies would be a reasonable solution? I understand that this was literally just fucked up, but it's a mistake that won't be repeated in the future (making a formal DO NOT MENTION thread makes sure that everyone is 100% aware of who has opted out).

I have created a thread backstage in the Scummies forum keeping a running list of anyone who requests to not be included in future ceremonies. PM the Scummies acct.

I think a public thread makes sense for people to opt out, but PMing the Scummies account is an okay option as well.

I advocate for a thread so it is easier to find. Just because someone is on the site and a high poster doesn't mean they will know to message the scummies account to opt out. Whereas a public forum allows for this exchange to occur much more simply.

My only worry (Nacho) with a public thread is that it's likely to get buried if people don't opt out frequently; a reminder in most Scummies-related announcements makes sure that anyone who would be uncomfortable with being included is likely to get the message.

This is just a better idea then a public thread so the information doesn't get lost.

And that's a shitty policy. If you're going to write parodies of people you should get their permission. I am actually shocked if its not already the case. There is no other part of this site where it would be kosher to write a mocking parody of someone without getting their permission first.

Isn't this the second time that Reck has been involved in something that has written a non-approved parody of people on our site?

Wasn't his modding credentials reduced to zero the last time this occurred in a game?

As a person who was involved in the instance you're referencing, the situation is rather different. Using site members is standard practice in the Scummies. Unfortunate situation, definitely, but not something I personally feel Reck (or any of the writers, as someone not-Reck has claimed to have written that portion anyway) should be held responsible for in terms of punishment, etc.

Is or Is not the scummies a serious of parodies that take varying amounts of the piss out of people without their permission, similar to how that game took the piss out of "shit posters"?
