Honestly mafia isn't even fun anymore

I used to enjoy the game a lot and I'm a fairly decent player, but with the addition of school and all the work I have to do I don't have much time to afford to play the game.

I really like playing at Night, because I don't have to worry too much about posting and if I have an action then sweet I can deduce how I can help my team.

And then when I'm inactive, everybody just accuses me and says that I'm lurking when I explain that i've been incredibly busy...

Somebody tell me how I get this to be fun again because I don't think this game is very fun now.

Mafia requires a certain amount of time to play well. This site has generous deadlines, so is relatively well suited to a busy life, but if you can't afford to put in the time a game requires you're not going to have fun.

For me, personally, I don't sign up to more then 1 game at once, because I know I can hardly afford to put in the time 1 game requires. I make sure to put some time aside each day to play that 1 game, so that I don't fall too far behind. In my experience, if you're busy, then as soon as you have catching up to do, things only get worse.

If you make 1 good, well thought out post a day, then people will understand when you tell them you're too busy to post more. If, on the other hand, you post five times a day, but your posts are contentless because you didn't take the time to read the thread, players will rightfully call you out that you aren't contributing and thus helping the scum.

There's no shame in not playing. If playing Mafia isn't fun, don't assume it's going to become fun if you just stick with it. Down that road lies anger and dumpster fires.

I stopped playing Mafia for several months because I didn't have enough time that I'd enjoy playing.

Also, even when I do play, I've been known to do things like replacing into day 3 of a Micro in order that I don't have to make a commitment for all that long. Come to think of it, the last time I played was back into August and I replaced into a game with 5 players left then too.

But in seriousness, I also think the novelty factor kinda dies after awhile too. Mafia isnt as much fun as when I first began for instance.

It matters not how much time I really have though unless I'm really behind in a game.

You know, people think it's pretty easy to imitate me.
But in actuality.

It's pretty damn hard.

It's easy enough to make a

caricature

of me.
But aside from the knowledge which only I have of me (both online and offline), and aside from the posting habits only I have (frequency, location, and very importantly, timing), there's all the subtle nuances of how I speak and whatnot which are pretty much impossible to replicate...especially since the way I DO speak depends largely on my mindset at the time. I can respond to the same situation one second with snark and the next with a ramble and the only difference would be the wiring within my brain. (Which is, y'know. Kinda...weird.)

It all has to do with my internal voice, and what is most influencing me, but that's a subject for a blog post. (Which, hey, I can actually do today!)
