Upick?
I want to play an Upick again. It's been so long since the last one. I love the idea of players picking the flavor they like. Host one, pretty please?ShowWhatever the chains placed upon me
Whatever the prison, my soul has the key
No money can buy, no power can still
No burden can break the unshakeable strength of my will

They can be quite labor-intensive to design, which is something non-mods may not realize.
AGM had a hard time with CYS: A Monument of Sins, and my trouble with Encore II makes me second guess another take.
As a player and mod I would say I'm interested, but the design work under time pressure is considerable."This is the true face of a man who plays paladin."- callforjudgement

Right, another issue is that even if you aren't under time pressure (and you are in a uPick), balancing a game where every player is a power role is hard enough in its own right, and in a uPick players would typically be disappointed with being vanilla. I've done uPick reviewing before now and I couldn't be confident that the setup ended up balanced; even in a regular Normal it's easy to miss a relevant interaction and there are quadratically more that you have to potentially deal with in a role madness game.
It'd be easy enough to run a uPick if the roles didn't have to match the flavour, but that'd be missing half the point of the genre. (It'd also be easy to run if the game didn't have to be within reasonable balance/swing/skew/kurtosis bounds, but abandoning that would be problematic in another way.)scum· scam · seam · team · term · tern · torn ·town- kuribo

it's been five years since I replaced Scott Brosius in a Video Game U Pick and wound up vanilla because he picked Tony Hawk Pro SkaterIn post 2, callforjudgement wrote:in a uPick players would typically be disappointed with being vanilla.

I'm so busy wallowing in existential misery that any game I joined would be an extension of that

Yeah. The whole point is that they're showcases of mod talent. My own attempt at one was... a thing that happened, although the Town was kind enough to mercy-kill itself before the setup could do much IIRC.In post 1, Andrius wrote:They can be quite labor-intensive to design, which is something non-mods may not realize.

Either way I missed it.

I can attest to this being true. I complained because of the choice I was given and I am now banned. Moral of the story: don't complain about your lot in life and.....In post 14, Untrod Tripod wrote:They don't suffer! Everyone who complains gets banned.
