Large hydra?

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Tue Nov 22, 2016 11:14 am

Post by Pine »

I recently got invited to be in a hydra, and declined because I find them exhausting. Changing back and forth between accounts and keeping them straight is a pain in the ass, and I don't have the patience. However, this got me thinking about them.

I've seen three-headed hydrae on this, but nothing larger than that. Has anyone seen hydrae of more players?

Does anyone think such a collaboration would be useful? Would they get in each others' way to much? Overpost? Would additional perspectives be helpful?

Further, is there any interest in forming larger 'think tank' hydrae? I might overcome my disinclination towards hydra formation to experiment with a larger one, particularly as it would relieve some of the responsibility of constantly switching accounts to simply post.

Having one head do all the posting and using the remaining heads as a kind of council throughout the game where they offer advice and scumhunt for you, seems like the most efficient way to do a hydra of more than two players.

Tbh this is a good way to do it even for a two-headed hydra.

Unicorn Brethren was a six-headed hydra, if I remember correctly, and all six heads flaked from the game they were playing.

What if there was a hydra that started as 2 players but each one had to meet activity requirements and if 1 head had to be replaced 2 people would replace it

I'd be glad to join a think tank hydra if you'd have me, Pine. I'm an intermediate player with a little over a year's experience (on an outside site that often copies from MS's playbook) and somewhat well versed in MS Wiki terminology, roles, and setups.
Video games can be educational. The Oregon Trail taught me that Manifest Destiny is fatal.

Ever wanted an extra head? Like making gut decisions by committee? Consider the Hydra Academy! Teachers wanted!

I think that would be fun, especially if done in a council style with a single voice to minimize cogdis.
