Gameplay
The following vote formats are the de-facto standard on the site (aka votes should be enclosed with vote tags or bold tags. I don't care about caps/spelling/etc.)
VOTE: borkjerfkin
Vote: borkjerfkin
Unvotes are
not
required.
If it appears to be a vote for a player, I will treat it as a vote for a player. Please don't attempt to fool me or other players with regard to fake votes. Do not put votes in spoiler tags.
A lynch is achieved when half plus one of the current number of living players are voting for the same player. If this does not occur by deadline, a No Lynch will occur -- there is no plurality lynch in this game.
Twilight is the time between the 'hammer' vote being cast and the beginning of the night phase. All living players, including the most recent lynchee, may talk during this time.
Players' alignments will be revealed on death.
When killed, a player may make one informationless 'bah' post at the beginning of the next day phase and must be silent thereon until the conclusion of the game.
Please submit all night actions either via <b> tags in your quicktopic if you have one, or by PM if you do not.
If you have a night action and do not submit one, you will not take an action. I will not resolve your action on a random person.
Player List is ordered alphabetically by the initial players' names.
Role distribution is guaranteed to be random, determined with the aid of random.org
Deadlines
Days will be exactly three weeks long. Extensions may be granted at my discretion for what I feel are extenuating circumstances.
Nights will be exactly two days (48 hours) long.
Players will be prodded after 48 hours of inactivity during the day, excepting V/LA circumstances.
Failure to pick up a prod in 24 hours will result in replacement. Asking for replacement will result in replacement.
IC and SE Guidelines (this part was totally lifted from Quadz)
The purpose of the IC (Inexperience-Challenged) and SE(Semi-Experienced) players in this game is to help newbies understand how the game is played on mafiascum.net. If you have any questions about abbreviations, etiquette, mafia theory, etc., do not hesitate to ask your IC. Newbie games are meant to be educational. That said, remember the following things:
Because roles were assigned randomly, do not assume that your IC or SE players are town. They will provide you good theory-based information regardless of their alignment, but they are no more likely to be town than any other player in the game.
There are no stupid questions! If you are unclear about any mafia-related questions ask your IC in thread. The answer to your questions will likely be helpful to everyone in the game.
The tells and advice listed in the wiki, though useful, will only get you so far. Your IC and SE should be vastly more helpful than the wiki, as they will always be up-to-date.
Generally, gameplay and strategy related questions should go to your IC, while logistical questions should go to me.
Any potentially role-revealing clarification questions should go directly to me via PM.

I will now replace the two SE slots as I'm pretty sure they have both flaked from the site. I will give the last newbie slot an additional 24 hours to claim his role.
Well that was fun. RandomYoshi and Zaicon obvtown. BikeBumGames and Nabber obvscum. Nachomamma, waltamelon and Trafulgoth town by POE. gg no re.
Unvote
Any objections?
VOTE: BikeBumGames
Naked votes are scummy. You've seen the IC do it and the new player sheep the IC because he was overeager; but by the time you did it you should've realized as town that it's anti-town, but you don't want to contribute so you freely chose the path that is giving away less info even at this early stage.
I don't think that you can call anyone obvtown or obvscum based on the absence or presence of a meaningless line of text. I didn't include such text in my post because I couldn't come up with a reason for my random vote.

As a newbie, I'm still quite unfamiliar with strategy, and I had thought that the general course of action for Day 1 was randomvoting to get the ball rolling on discussion.

I'd like you to elaborate on why you went into this game with that particular mindset.
Well I saw that two other players had not included anything extra in their votes, and I thought it wouldn't be a problem. So I selected a name at random and voted it. I couldn't think of any particular reason for my vote, or anything funny to say regarding the name, so I just left as a naked vote.

You can't but I can because I'm good, see? m'eaah! RVS is a test and you failed, and you kept failing like a weatherman blooper chainreaction because you were nervous. Being a newbie doesn't fly as an excuse, that goes for everyone. Read some guides or something. All you need to know is the rules; you make up your strategy on the go, you fabricate bullshit to get mislynches or lurk as scum and with increasing experience you sharpen your focus to read town/scum tells as town. It's that simple. If you get to a point where you realize how each alignment manifests, understand the fundamental philosophy of organized minority vs unorganized majority, you'll be like this; you'll be able to tell scum from town just by reading the tone of a post.
Time will tell if I'm wrong about you, in the mean time.. where did you hear about this game and what do you know about it?
