can you elaborate on duck

i think the fixation on duck's inconsistency about voting him vs voting with him is the type of focus to come from scum more often than not, like it doesn't actually say anything about duck's alignment it's just poking holes at inconsistencies because that's easy to do. the follow up in 840 just seems to draw out the bit way too far, like town does mildly inconsistent shit like that all the time and i find it hard to believe pavowski has never encountered that before and feels it's worth pressuring like this

i also think 251 is scummy

overjustifying joining a popular wagon is already a bit of an eyebrow raiser but the things he's using as justification aren't actually scumtells. I'm not a consistent person, and am very rarely consistent this early in a game. Pav knows me I don't think he's thought through this much.

To boot, despite this being the main thing of substance that his posts have been focused on he hasn't joined the wagon at any point which is another eyebrow raiser

I'd consider pav someone who's p capable of recognising even my tone and stuff and there's just nothing there to make me think he's tried to sort me so far :p there's some other quirks in his posting I can dig out which make me think he's more invested in the arguments he's making than in, like, observing alignment indicative stuff

This post particularly feels like Duckworth operating in good faith on me, like it seems like he's moreso trying to rattle my cage than actually pushing a scumread, which would be easy to do here.

No, it did not. It knows any game has a limited number of town eliminations before we lose, and with two possible vigilantes in the game, burning townies is the last thing on its mind. It doesn't know if it agrees that we have a whole Day and Night cycle to give. If both Vigs are in the game and even one is in the hands of scum, the odds that both vigs hit town increase dramatically. It believes, as a result if we hit town day 1 without consideration, and then two vigs eventually remove two more town, we're at what 6-3? That leaves us with 1 elimination before we are in endgame.

It's just not certain that there is a good world where we can afford to say "these players are off limits for a day, go searching elsewhere". It understands the logic, infact it gets the entire concept given there are a lot of powerful town roles in the game we do not wish to expose but it really thinks that something like this should be considered the same way that number logic psychology should. A place to begin, but if a player is transparently the most scummy player in the lobby... it's not right to just allow that player to thrive unchecked.

I don't agree with this thought but I don't think it's an untowny one. Is it saying Dave is the most scummy person in the lobby or is that just a blanket "this shouldn't happen" statement?

Math is bad, too. 14 players -1 townie today gives 13, even if scum go ham tonight with a vig and a factional kill that's 11, with 8 town and 3 scum. I think the first day we could potentially be in the MELO situation above is Day 3, and that's if scum hold all the vigs, which I'm just gonna press F to doubt.

This post reminded me to consider mech, which I honestly haven't thought about at all yet, and maybe it's a better way for me to engage with this game

That lim pool has 2+ town in it (mechanically) and seems to include me who you already townread. I also feel like solving by the draft is really regressive at this point in the gamestate?

I have opinions when I have opinions. I actually kinda like gob. At an intellectual level I can see what people are seeing and I'm fallible and given the fairly strong consensus gob is a long-term liability and technically the hammer on NAS may be slightly partner indicative

but I've enjoyed that he's been a contrarian, I didn't feel his slippy stuff was as manufactured in this game, he kinda needed to hammer NAS or he would've caught heat + Penguin said he was about to, and I haven't actually read a case against gob that compelled me?

That means if they all got roles, one would have to not use their role to take the NK. And if two of them pick the same numbers, one of them has to end up as a vanilla goon (and both might), so multitasking wouldn't matter.

But as informed, multitasking already doesn't matter, so it's no big deal if one of them ends up as a VT as that person can take the NKs.

I missed that pavowski vibe magic this game which I think was a big part of me just...not seeing you as town. but we're gonna crush it next time.

I think I am too stressed in RL to vibe. I needed a relaxer to come home to after work and all my shit, and mafia was not it, lol. I thought about repping out when I started the interview process but honestly the plist was too cool and I was still having a good time watching you all solve!
