@scorp well, a mass claim would give us the given of who is together, but beyond that it wouldnt give us anything. Its possible that it would help, being that we would know who is paired together, and obviously 2 of those pairs would be mafia. The only real way i see it hurting us, is that then the maf can take out someone they want dead, by going after there partner, who may not be as apt at finding the maf. I would say, once everyone has checked in, that it doesnt seem like a bad idea.

@nacho people defend people that they find to be not scummy, this happens all the time among townies, breaking away from the norm of how mafia is played in that way could cause us problems. Now there is something to be said for defense of a case that is blatantly stupid, but it is at least something to keep in mind, not everyone sees people the same way, and the best way to kill mafia, is to make sure those who seem to be highly town are not killed.

Reading a lover pair as a person can be a good way to read, but people act differently, we have all had the people in game who seemed like maf, and ended up not, the combo of the pair can help us but its something to not rely on.

Yeah I forgot the second day would throw us into lylo. So we really need to win by d2 lynch. and there is a night phase, but thats worst case scenario.

for instance, my last game, I was defending JellyJiggler, we both ended up being town. He very much seemed like a nube and not a mafia. I was right.

@nacho its possible that the defense of someone other than a lover could be a true town defense, yeh pairs is good, but theres more to this than just the pairs, since we have 2 sets out there that are maf.

well, I think no side is really going to see the other side, I guess, personally if i think a case is stupid, or that for whatever reason, they are not a good lynch candidate, I have every intention of protecting whoever, as for everyone else, thats your thing.

Um I think this is just how he plays, I have sources, but due to rules the sources I have are not useable, due to rules of stuff, but im sure if you check his history, you may note this is his normal strat, even though it is horrible, and needs revising, thats my view.

@nopoint could you link a game that you have used a similar strategy, I have heard you have before, and that would prolly show its just your way. (use a game that has finished) As a side note its a horrible strat.

@gand Im a little confused now, last night it made sense for both games, but now that I look back, maybe I was too drunk.

I think what happened is I misread one of the names, and it was just after he posted, so i thought they were discussing the same thing we were with nopoint.

Well from my limited experience, onsite, an early wagon, on very little does not seem to be bad, I think its less than a sound idea, and I suggest that we form wagons based on something at least. But since it is early in d1, if maf went for a kill they would bring a lot of attention to themselves, so a small wagon, shouldnt bite us in the rump.

@nopoint can you explain how a bandwagon, based on basically nothing, helps.

As I understand it, you seem to get scum vibes from him frequently, is this the case, and if so, would you say he is more times, mafia, or town.

if he is more times town, have you considered that your scum tracker may be set for a certain playstyle, that is both town and scum?

and yeh i understand our probability is higher, but whats the fun of randomly deciding to kill X player?, and whats the chance of getting a highly random wagon, on a mafia, and having it go all the way through?

@ nacho I feel it necessary to remind you that originally when the idea arose, your lover, said we needed to wait it out before we said who our teammates are, being that im only one person who only sees the world in so many ways, I was stalling, for the sake of maybe I missed a way that the info would help maf, and hurt us.

Im not seeing me piggybacking, but even if I am, when someone agrees with a case they tend to side with it.

@xscorp, I expect the first bandwagon to be at least based on some stupid wording of one post, or something so miniscule its laughable, but a simple vibe, as he originally said, and now he is saying that he has no reason to think he is scum. So the wagon is based on a feeling a person had, that just screams as a horrible wagon, and I know there is some info you could gain, but at least with a shred of something, there would have been a focal point of discussion to keep the train moving.

Active lurking is a tell but it does not work to its true effectiveness that people assign it, may I also note that their are other people who have posted even less, just pointing out the reality.

If I defend a townie who is right and not my partner, and it works I save a townie, if i dont there are 4 people in this game, who can cause that townie to look like mafia, and have them lynched, and only 1 who can defend them.

How long do people really think it would take mafia to split into groups?

There are two ways of looking at this game essentially, everyone starts off as scum, or everyone starts off as town. and you figure out who isnt, they both have advantages and are ways of looking at the game correctly.

The wagon on me just boomed fast, and im betting theres scum in the mix.

I would like to point out that raivann was the one who wanted to wait to say the lover pairs.

as for bunny, I cant say her lack of posting up to a point, was a good thing, but I bet if people looked a little harder they would find another person who has posted once I believe. We were in a lul of a wagon with nothing to dispute, or argue for, except whether his idea of a random wagon was really anything worth it.

Well truly there is something to be said for having a scum read on both parties, but both parties do not have to be acting scummy to be mafia. So it becomes a game of is person A scummy to account for the fact that person b seems to not be scummy, at least in my mind.

p262 scum get away with acting townie, it happens, and whos to say that the weaker player thinks he needs your help.

This is really the perfect game for less knowledgeable players, to learn. They can talk directly to someone who may know more than they do about this game. Personally I think, if you are not as strong, you should talk to your teammate, in your quicktopic, and I think it is the responsibility of the other player, to help them learn how to play better.

the numbers would conter-indicate this until you notice when holy voted against the nopoint team.

the first one was in rvs. and the second one was done during a time, when I was most likely to get lynched, what with 4 on me, and 2 on Nopoint. So easily a time to throw a vote on a teammate, which could be called in as evidence later, with no real chance of him getting hammered.

It was only a day ago, and the nopoint lynch, is essentially the raivann lynch, just put on the person, who decided to stay in the games he signed up for.

@DMSIS do you really think such a grandiose attitude is helping your case at all. If I wanted to I could use exclamation points and capitalized words and all, but it is not necessary, and it could easily cloud the mind of town, plus its just annoying.
