Game Rules
(Directly taken from VRK)


The Golden Rule

Please remember that this is a game and your main objective is to have fun! Be considerate of each other, avoid getting personal, and enjoy the game. Playing to win does not preclude being considerate of each other!

You are all grown-ups, if you get too personal you will most likely receive the same treatment from other players. I shall not intervene in the game on this specific matter. However any kind of racism, homophobic attacks (and similar behaviors) could force me to modkill you (possibly without any warning)


General Rules/Game Etiquette

  1. In order for all players to play at least one game day this game will start with a Day phase.
  2. Communication outside the thread (if your role specifically allows it) is allowed until the game begins as declared by a post of the moderator.
  3. You may not quote private Moderator-supplied information (either real or fabricated) of any kind. Paraphrasing (for role claims, etc.) is acceptable.
  4. Please remember that you made a commitment to participate when you signed up to play. If you cannot fulfill this commitment, please contact the Mod and request a replacement instead of just disappearing!
  5. There is to be NO personal communication outside of the forum postings unless your role PM specifically allows it.
    If someone contacts you outside the game you should report it to the game Mod IMMEDIATELY.


Activity/Prods/Replacements

  1. You should aim for one post every 36 hours, minimum, to keep the game moving.
  2. Prods of missing players will be issued upon request or after 48 hours of no activity (excluding weekends).
  3. A prodded player has 24 hours to respond to the prod, after which time a replacement search will begin. The prodded player may re-enter the game so long as no replacement has been found.
  4. A player who has been prodded 3 times is subject to possible replacement without further notice (player-requested prods do not count towards this total).
  5. If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a 48-hour period please PM the Mod so that you don’t get replaced!


Deadlines

  1. This game has a 2 weeks deadline.
  2. Extensions are given only in extreme circumstances and always at the mod's discretion.
  3. Nights will have a standard deadline of 48 hours.
  4. If you have a role with a Night action your choices are due to me by the posted deadline. If I do not receive your choice via PM by the posted deadline you will forfeit your actions.
  5. Deadlines may be shortened if activity is too low, or if all Night choices have been received early.


Player Actions/Voting/Player Death

  1. A simple majority of all living players must agree on one person (via voting) for a Lynch to occur (simple majority = ½ # of living players +1, rounded down). If no one has a simple majority of votes at deadline a No Lynch will occur.
  2. Votes should be bolded or they may not be counted (e.g.
    Vote: Player
    ).
  3. Vote revocations should be bolded or they may not be counted (e.g.
    Unvote: Player
    or
    Unvote
    ). Unvotes are not necessary before changing votes.
  4. You may
    Vote: No Lynch
    - only a simple half of the players are required to vote 'No Lynch' to send the game to Night phase without a Lynch.
  5. Votes/Unvotes should be placed on a line all by themselves to make them easier for everyone to see.
  6. Votes/Unvotes that reasonably follow the guidelines specified above, and are unambiguous with respect to player nicknames/abbreviations, will count. Attempting to fake a vote will result in a Modkill.
  7. Once a player has reached a simple majority of votes no further unvoting will change their fate.
  8. When a player is lynched the game enters twilight until I post a death scene; all players may continue to post.
  9. If you are killed (either via lynch or night kill) you may no longer post except for a brief “Bah!”-type post that contains NO game related information.
  10. Roles with Night actions will not be able to submit an action on Night 0 (i.e. during the confirmation stage).
  11. Any player with a Night action may instead submit a “No Action” PM to let the Mod know that you do not want to perform your expected action that Night phase.


Miscellaneous

  1. Red
    or
    Purple
    text is reserved for the Mod.
  2. No invisible/small/encrypted text is allowed.

  3. Vote counts will be posted once per page or once per day, whichever is less.
  4. If you have an issue/problem with the game, please PM the Mod privately. Do not post issues/complaints in the game thread.
  5. The Mod may make mistakes - please point out any mistakes gently. Mistakes will be corrected where possible, but sometimes mistakes are made that cannot be reversed. These will stand as final to be commiserated over after the game.
  6. Please bold all requests to the Mod so that they don’t get missed.

  7. Rules violations will be dealt with according to their severity (up to and including a Modkill) as the Mod sees fit.
  8. Modkills may be accompanied by a change to day/night. The offender’s role will be changed to Neutral Survivor, which guarantees a loss.
  9. Any situation not explicitly covered above is subject to Mod discretion and will be handled as the Mod sees fit on a case-by-case basis.

As soon as Xalxe publicly announced that he was willing to go home without blood on his hands, saulres did the same. But the elder had appeared already.
" So you are cowards who doesn't want to lynch a fellow comrade ? Fine but don't whine if it backfires. We shall reconvene tomorrow morning. Don't be late or I shall summon you. " And soon enough the elder was gone leaving the 7 voters alone in the townhall. Some spoke for a while, others left as soon as possible.

As you all wake up and rejoin the townhall, you see a door open. Whiskers, the poor lad has been killed by the evil. The elder is waiting for you in the townhall : " So now Whiskers is dead. I used to like his ability to ride wierdly colored animals but I won't say I mourn his death. Make the right choice townies, the end is near. "

As soon as Cobblerfone settled to lynch his fellow citizen, the elder appeared and opening a black door dumped the evildoer in the depths of hell : " Don't fail me townies, I will not be happy if you don't get his associate. Think fast and think well or you shall all be dead soon. "

I decided not to apply my plan of helping the town due to the negative feedbacks I had.



As the dawn draw near, the elder appear to deliver a strange message. He could possibly help the town. The answers were disturbing : one feared death, one was sleeping, the evil was against and the rest was worried that it might destroy the life-death continuum. So the elder did nothing. But the danger remains and the one who feared for his life was killed. He was brave but had his time. May the town help itself.

Now that the game is officially ended, I'm open to any comments or suggestions on my modding. Don't be afraid to criticize anything.

First of all, I'd like to thank you for providing a no-flakers, no-replacement game. Though it was a small game, I never had to prod anyone for inactivity and I'm thankful to you for that. Second of all, you show great respect of each others and I'm glad it was that way.

The setup is quite easy to understand and I shall not speak more on that. Seeing how the game went, I don't think the setup is balanced as it is because of the strategy that the scum used. Basically the 1st day is a guaranteed No Lynch, so all the mafia has to do is to draw out the cop/seer by fakeclaiming the useful PR on D2. If the true PR doesn't come out, then the Mafia wins.; if he does then the scum has to force a mislynch in D3 or (and that should have been the case) D4. The sole method for the town to escape that mechanism is to have the PR initiate a massclaim on D2. I'm gonna propose that we run the next Carbon 14 which 4 townies instead of 3.

I don't want to be judgmental but most of you are bad mafia players. While Whiskers and Xalxe played relatively well during D1, the rest of you were pretty good. But as soon as Xalxe is condemmed, the game is lost. I knew you couldn't catch Cobblerfone even though he scumclaimed foolishly. There is work to do on that. Remember that the game is logical (it's an open) so a 7p with 16 pages is pretty short. Asking questions, and taking more time to discuss things in D1/D2 should provide more information for the town to scrutinize on D3/D4. The investigation were good as were the kills so that's good. DonJosh and saulres needs to feel the heat and play a little bit more aggressively and to their conviction, while Mist7676 should avoid using her age as an argument against her. Yes you are a bad mafia player but it doesn't mean you have to discharge all your responsabilities on someone else shoulder. Take your load and improve your game. Cobblerfone had a quiet game and so did Kondi though he should have spotted the scumtell.

Furthermore, when Kondi stated that he had a result on Xalxe, he didn't claim his role. So from a townie PoV you cannot say : " the cop can counterclaim " because at that point you don't know if the evil is mafia or not.

No criticisms for me ? :cry:

PS : Don't get worked up on 'you are bad', it's mostly a nice and jovial appreciation of your game. The average experienced (6 months or more) mafia player on MS is better than you. It doesn't mean you are a VI and should be banned from playing.

I characterize the play of the town as bad. D1 ended without too much talked about (I know that you had no topic to discuss but collecting infos on D1 is very important) and D2/D3 weren't much better. All in all the game was played too fast and it is what makes the town bad. Xalxe and Whiskers are exceptions because their influence over the game was limited to dying N1 and fakeclaiming D2.

To summarize, you all played well on a personal level but the level of the game was low (above a Newbie but below a small Normal) and that comes from the general level of the players. I use the word bad because I don't know a word that could be more accurate in english (that's not my mother tongue ;))

No Dead QT for a small game, that's rather pointless since it is generally over in less than 2 months.
