Badabam!

Hello, townies and losers, this'll be my useless post of the thread that is actually useful because it puts the thread in my egosearch.

I'll read the 9 pages presently and return with a vast array of probably unwarranted but highly thoughtful opinions.

This game will be fantastic and we will obviously win. I assume. I'll have a better judgment of that after my read!

My god, this thread is such a circus! That's cool, though. Pretty cool. In a show of how even Apple products can be unreliable and annoying, my Safari app closed and deleted all my witty and insightful comments about this thread's contents. I'm still smiling. Inside.

Luckily, no shoddy programming can (yet) erase MY memory! Thoughts:

Om's Scum claim was wholly unlikeable but gets him the clear for today! You go, guy! You've earned it! But if the best thing you can do to help the town is claim scum, there's a not-so-subtle problem there.

It's good that RainbowDash is dead. Without batting an eye, she extrapolated outrageously extensive conclusions about the game from from enormously tiny samples of data. And even these extrapolations were poorly done, though at least presented in an astute fashion.
More than that, we now have the laws of probability more in our favor — our chances of mislynching fell by almost 3%, assuming our lynches are as good as randomly fixed.
And that's that with The Bright Side of Things.

Mindgamer's vote for Om is ill-thought. Does that mean it was a show of poor thinking, or of thinking intended to do ill? I dunno, but I greatly enjoyed that opportunity to use wordplay. Nullread. Also, lengthy posts tempt me toward the tl;dr button. But I'll stay strong. For ponies everywhere!

Metabot's solid, but uninteresting. Not particularly aggressive, insightful or protown. Yes, that was a challenge, Metabot. Problem, bro?

My, Hoko, what does it matter if I'm an INTP? And if you have a Pony chart (for Pete's sake!). You called out RainbowDash. Good thinking, there.

So lets do this. We lynch hokori, then we lynch Vincent and then possibly Mindgamer, and then GG. Agreed?

VOTE: HOKO

No ifs? Just "let's lynch two people as fast as we can one after an another"? Your reason to lynching me is right up there with lynching people for voting in RVS.

VOTE: scooby

This, however, is unacceptable. What meh is this?
In post 206, hokorippoi wrote:Om of the Nom (3) - andrew94, lane0168, Vincent2128

Meta has not voted.
Less then 16 hours left.
Until they are replaced, we have 2 perm votes. One on OM of the Nom, and one on Mindgamer.
Vin in on V/A so his vote could be perm too.
So they are pushed a little more. They are also more active. So they are more likely to put in a good ven kill if towny.
VOTE: Mindgamer

And then this masterful show of an attack against Mindgamer...
We have time, now. Why Mindgamer? And why not an answer to this question already implied in your posts?

iStark's parrot of Hoko's terrible point against scooby is scummy. Opportunistic as heck. But I need a better comprehension of his play before I can get rabid. Besides, what scum flakes? More posts plz.

Andrew's shit post is a great show of rhetoric, but I want more content. Town for now...

Vincent is mehful and his posts are quite possibly filler. A good potential lynch to follow up.

Scooby, naglfar, om — you guys are almost definitely town and could form a voting bloc right now. Do it! Your pluralistic unity will give you the oomf needed to get things done! I expect that I'll be joining you shortly once I prove my worth. /bad poker face

How to say this? UR DOIN IT RONG.

Voting blocs need to contain unquestionably town players. Within that job description is the implication that players with two posts can't be admitted. Or at least that's what makes sense to me.

Parroting/agreeing to something =/= scummy.

Hoko did make sense so I call you scummy for just calling it bull & putting everyone in that scum team who agreed to him.

I don't always accuse someone of being scummy for being a parrot, but when I do, it's also because said parroting can be plausibly observed as a show of opportunism.

I acknowledge the possibility that you came into a thread, a world, perhaps, where no idea is new and the best you can do is submit your approval of them. Or even that you do sincerely approve of somewhat weaker ideas than what I might. But at the moment, I doubt that.

I put you on the scumteam with Hoko because QFTing a bad attack is even worse than making one.

What is it with people trying to setup mass rapid lynches. People have every right to talk day 2 before you try to push a wagon. The talk the day after is more importing then talk day 1. In a normal game You have information both from the lynch and the night kill. In this one we will have information from the lynch and maybe a 2nd kill if the Day 1 Lynch is town. Next we will get information form the 2nd day kill (if they do it).

Why don't you respond to my attack and questions?

Okay, ths is all getting rather annoying. I'm going to go through a list of concerns.

1. Deadline. Guys, it is soon. Okay? And this thread is too slow for any late Day shenanigans to get any momentum. No one here is objecting to the hoko wagon (not even hoko). If you have an alternative, you'd better have a damned good attack and a wagon on your alternative needs to already exist. Redundant concern is redundant.

2. Clout, I like your thinking and find Vincent a great lynch target. In fact, given the right conditions (i.e, a later deadline), I'd be voting for him right now. But Vincent isn't available to discuss your points and I'd like to make the deadline. I will post a summarial case against Hoko after this post.

3. iStark, your attack on scooby is dirt. You simply cannot take posts like his literally. No one does. And no one is taking your attack seriously. Change votes.

4. Metabot. Hi. Guy who agrees that hoko is the best lynch. Have you considered voting for hoko? Hmmmmmmmmmm?
A nice explanation of your positions on the two scummy newcomers would be pretty baddass, too.

5. Vincent, you'll need to address your suitors and actually vote for someone. And I note that you promise a post today.

6. Hoko, please wake up and make your remaining moments here more interesting...

7. Everyone else...*snore*

I just realized that the game is nightless. -_-
There's more or less no strong consequence for no lynching, except we give the mafia an opportunity to use his second shot, which will actually increase our chances of ultimately lynching scum. Or am I mistaken?

Vincent's mehful and his posts seem like filler. He could be the shooter playing it cool so he'll be alive when it's time for shot two.

His biggest highlight is a crappy earlygame attack on meta for not voting on a vague suspicion of Om. -_-

He gives vague approval of andrew's Om vote and ultimately sheeps on it. He shows little interest in actually developing this wagon.

His play's been deliberately low-key and under the radar. His ideas are rarely meaningful or new. I think this is our scum.

Yes, but what happened to "I think mindgamer is scummier than Om"? Something he do change your mind?

Not one attack on you has been about your activity. While much of your lynch is by policy (Rule X: Lynch Someone), it mostly centers around your generally poor play. I had thought it was scummy play, but I'm not so sure. I wouldn't be lynching you on that if it weren't for the deadline.

Vincent seems lurktastic.

I like Hokorippoi's new posts. They don't strike me as desperate scum, rather, they appear to me as town trying to make the most of their last moments. I originally voted him because he posted mostly fluff and I had no better suspects. But now that he appears to me as town, I don't feel comfortable lynching him.

I still think it's essential that we lynch today though. Seems like Vincent is a popular alternative. Well, I can agree with that. Vincent VL/A'd until deadline, then deadline is moved, then he appears promising a post 'tomorrow' but two days have passed and nothing is done. Combine that with Vincent's near non-existant content in his posts and I'm content parking my vote on him.

Unvote. Vote: Vincent2128

Now that we have a bit more flexibility, I'd like to address my concerns.

People of interest:
Vincent
Metabot
iStark
Mindgamer

Everyone else is more or less clear to me. Of course, that's half the playerlist. I probably need to sleep soon (ACT test tomorrow!) but I'll discuss one of these before I go. I choose metagame because his posts are the easiest to process (shorter, less frequent) except for maybe Vincents' but Vincent's been covered.

My biggest quarrel. You found hoko the best lynch but never acted on it. You didn't vote once the whole Day, despite an apparent truckload of reads.

Even now, your first vote lacks justification or basis. Explain it!

Oh, and aren't I and Clout both getting lynched today? You never explained why, either.

How ignored I feel like I've been by you!

VOTE: Vincent

Still the best place for a vote atm. This might change once I get to reviewing the next few guys. Metabot, please don't ignore me today.

That's...ultimately good.

No one should vote until near deadline. Thinking is good. Vincent should have a word. There should be scumhunting.

This is LYLO. We need to milk it for all that it is worth.

Where the heck is Vincent? Preview edit: Sigh. Preview edit: Clout. Unvote, please. Preview edit: everyone, unvote please.

Vincent, iStark, Mindgamer. There is our scum. If I'm wrong about any of these, andrew's the only one who can fill the slot.

iStark's bad play:

a scum would be more wary of his fake reads on people

since istark attacked a player he called town before, this probablyu means he is sincerely attakcing people for their acts,l rather than fabricateing readsss

I was Planning on calling istark out tomorrow for being inconsistent, both here and in his reasons for finding me scummy. First he said that my post seemed 'forced'. When asked to explain, instead he presented a whole new reason to find me scummy. Thus: Red flag — read fabrication.

But no one's interested atm. Tomorrow, we'll investigate this all further.

This quote sums it up well — the quoted portion (though scooby took it as a towntell) and the part after it, too. Add iStark's vote to the mix and you have a strong case.

His reason for announcing suspicion of me was essentially a lie. First he said that my post seemed "forced". But when pressured to explain that, he instead said that I was scummy for "calling [Hoko's attack] bull & putting everyone in that scum team who agreed to him."

But this could just be a general pattern of suboptimal play, as scooby argues. Next, mindgamer.

In post 337, Mindgamer wrote:I have to get going but I'm making this quick post to say I agree, a quickwagon before the second kill is submitted seems like the way to go. Vincent is likely scum, and if he is, I see some very nice connections to him in yesterday's voting behaviour.

Vote: Vincent2128

Mindgamer needs to go into great detail explaining this post. Connections, personal reasons for thinking him scummy, it all.

Other than that, though...
The rest of his play is astoundingly null. I could've sworn there was more. Could someone remind me?

Vincent and iStark have preference for now, but we have all Day. I'm interested in whomever replaces him. I'm not interested in moving toward a lynch for a while.

If Vincent were town, the third scum would've already quickwagoned. Guys, we have scum.

I don't think Clout's vote is valid as it is.

If Vincent is scum, nothing makes sense. Or, my list would not make sense. The quickwagon scenario only make sense if its intention is to kill town. Mindgamer's and Vincent's alliances must either be different, or both are town. They can't both be scum.

So Vincent got put at L-1 and the hammer did not come. This means that if vincent is town, scooby is certainly town. If vincent is scum, then nothing.

My reads are all messed up. -_-

I'll drop my mindgamer read, then, since it's the weakest. But I seriously need to reprocess things.

Mmmm... He doesn't attempt to really justify his reads in any rigorous way and his reads are, themselves, pretty generic. Things are a bit better than with Vince, but the trend still seems rather consistent, making me more confident here than in other candidates. I'm not getting a town read.

I'm going to take a risk by
voting Fat_Tony
. The game has only slowed since the day started, so my ideal of spending the day in sophisticated discussion no longer seems realistic.

Sigh. I made the dumb mistake of not quicklynching Vincent after Clout's vote. The game would've been perfect, otherwise. Oh, well.
