Found an Open game which Salamence, Om the Nom, and Mala all played. I think Salamence is shell shocked from being caught in that game by Om the Nom who did indeed go on "his gut". Om could have just been lucky, as he just kept with a lot of fluff posts afterwards, and got lucky when Salamence self imploded with a gambit. Interesting that Salamence brought this up though; all it does is help Om the Nom as a good scum reader. Scum Salamence would have no interest in helping pump up Om the Nom.

Mala came onto the site in a Mini game with "yo yo yo this is what is up, this is how i vote fools who be lying" type of post, which set him up rather well to make it to the end as scum. However he did well in the previous game, correctly fingering McStab.

MattiLou has no meta.

Absta101 won a recent newbie game as a townie, and comes off as very standoffish, cursing like a sailor. Is kinda acting the same way in this game.

Maxous was in the Kingdom Hearts game with Salamence, where they were at each other's throats and Salamence is mafia with Maxous town.

Mala's flip isn't necessarily scummy, as reaction testing is a pretty popular technique for town. The only odd thing that I would nitpick on is that people who do that, don't usually say "it was a reaction test" right after.

I liked Rainbows plan in spirit. If the plan is followed and assuming nobody lies about their actions, you have a 4 in 7 chance to hit at least one Mafia member at worst. But what I'm worried about is that what if someone who is supposed to commute ends up shooting someone? The game won't say "so and so" and shot "so and so" if I'm reading the setup right, so people can just lie about commuting, and instead shoot someone.

As far as an alignment tell for that slot, this is null to me so far (e.g. town if the plan works, scum if it doesn't)

Mala's is scum due to omgus, but reaction testing is still an ok thing for town to do, so I'll have it as leaning town now. His response to my question seemed genuine.

Matt is the oddest cookie, due to being so new. Not sure yet, I need experience with these players still.

And for Sala/DoubleJD, well DoubleJD is our town hero if Rainbow's plan was a farce.

I'm still a little skeptical of the plan, because we have no idea what the non-tribute players are going to be doing at night (4 at night, since 2 are facing off in the ring). What if people don't use their commutes, and then save it for the next time they're in the ring?

Caught up reading the rest of the posts.

The more work I see RBD put into it, the more confident I am moving him to a town read. He's honestly trying to work out a plan to just out-shoot the scum. I don't see scum benefitting from that. I still think that there need to be kinks worked out, but it's good progress on a pro-town plan.

DoubleJD's objection to it doesn't mean JD is scum; he's trying to save the town from screwing it up. I have him as town as well.

Still unsure of Mala's reaction test. I've seen town use it, but it's not fair to assume scum can't use it. Nice to see Maxous at least try to question it also.

Matti could be playing the newbie card. I too have a "gut" feeling about one post though. The post about "day 1 is taking too long" type thing. How could a pure newbie know that? He's my scum candidate.

Having an ML plus a double town kill knocks out 3 townies, putting you at an instant lylo.

Isn't this plan rather dangerous in that respect? All it does is require a 5 in 7 mislynch, and a 2 in 6 mistarget.

So with that, as long as you keep the condition of the "death trap" (meaning you lynch either B or C because someone commuted), then the scenario is exactly right.

My only qualm as mentioned is that this has to be followed exactly, as in G doesn't randomly shoot someone during the first day. If there's multiple deaths, what do we do?

Why would you put yourself in the night one shootout position

It's how you preserve the plan for the first phase. The plan will be broken if after an ML, two scum are put in the shootout, and they don't follow through with their promise.

Getting two scum in the shootout will mean nobody shoots anyone and all the townies lose their commutes.

Huh, as I reread what I wrote, I answered my own question.

The townies are going to be commuting. They're under no fear of death.

I was picturing a ML and the two scum turning on the outside of the ring and blasting two extra townies, putting it at 2 on 2.

I was impressed that RBD made it that far. I was completely expecting everyone to commute night 1, thinking "lol i'm town, why am i going to voluntarily die".
