Open 591: C9++, The Lunatic Ayslum (Game Over: Town Win!)

I) All site-wide rules apply. Read and respect them.
II) There is no personal communication outside the forum postings (regarding this game) unless your role specifically allows it.
III) Do not quote your Role PM or any private communication (either real or fabricated) with any player or mod staff. Paraphrasing your Role PM is acceptable.
IV) Be courteous and respectful to all your fellow players and the moderating team.
V) Play to your Win Condition.

TWO: DAY

I) Each Day shall have a two week deadline.
II) Votes must be

bolded

or in vote tags, they shall not be counted otherwise. Abbreviating someone's name is acceptable, so long as I can discern who you were voting for without trouble.
III) Unvoting is not required, but is appreciated.
IV) Once you have reached a simple majority (half of all living players plus one) that person shall be lynched.
V) If half the living players approve a No Lynch (

Vote: No Lynch

or VOTE: No Lynch), then no player shall be lynched and the game shall enter Night. If deadline is reached and no one has received a simple majority of the votes, no one shall be lynched.
VI) Once a player is lynched the game enters twilight until I arrive and post a death scene. All players may continue to post during Twilight.
VII) If you have failed to post for over 48 hours, I will send you a prod. Failure to respond to this prod within 24 hours will result in the replacement of that player. Force-replacing of flakers/rule-breakers will be occur at my discretion.
VIII) A deadline extension may be granted; just ask.
IX) Votes and Unvotes shall not count in Twilight.

THREE: NIGHT

I) Night shall last three days.
II) All groups with Private Topics (PTs) will be able to converse during the Night.
III) Any role or faction with night abilities may choose to use them by PM-ing the mod with their choice. This may also be done by any PTs a player may have.
IV) If no action is received, no action will be taken. All actions received after the deadline has passed will not be valid.
V) Night Action submissions will be accepted starting in the Twilight.

FOUR: CAPITAL OFFENSES

I) Do not quote your Role PM or any private communication (either real or fabricated) with any player or mod staff. Paraphrasing your Role PM is acceptable.
II)

The following is a list of outlawed shenanigans:

Using invisible text, codes, cryptography, etc.
Editing your posts (if you have the power to do so)
Insulting other players
Quoting any methods of private communication you may have access to (PTs, Role PMs, etc.)

If any of these offenses are committed, I have the right to force-replace you from the game or modkill you. A warning will usually come before replacement or modkilling, depending on the severity of the infraction.

FIVE: MISCELLANEOUS

I) Feel free to address me in-thread, but if there is a large egregious mistake please PM me. Small matters like errors in the votecount can be posted in-thread.
II) I have the final say on any issue. I reserve the right to force-replace and modkill at my will.
III) This is a game. Have fun, and keep the game fun for other people.
IV) I will use the color

I've played another C9++ a long time ago when it was still a nightstart. The game itself was so shitty, it became good again. Town won accidentally. It's only 10 short pages so you can read it fast. Please let this game be better.

Topeka State Hospital; a home for the mad. The resting place of the sick and twisted, sanctuary of men who had raped, killed and tortured others. All for their fun and entertainment.
The state banished them to asylums such as this, usually never to see the light of day again. The rest of their lives spent in constant torture and darkness. Slowly, breaking their minds or occasionaly the life of a lucky one.

Neighbouring residents report hearing banging noises, manic laughter and blood curdling screams which get cut short unexpectedly, leaving a cold, deathly silence. It keeps them awake during the nights, makes their children cry. Many a complaint had been sent to the local counsel, however they continued to deny that anything out of the ordinary was happening at the facility.
The noises said otherwise, as did the bodies that left the building piled in carts.

Not all the men at these places were mad; there were also men and women who had just doubted the government or opposed it. They fought for freedom and equality, yet they were still seen as pests. The authorities saw them as a threat and labeled them as mad, sending them away to break their minds. Hopefully they would leave without any memories about their old ambitions, better still; they never speak again.
These unlucky beings underwent the tortures, mentally and physically. Enduring the silence and boredom of their cells and trying not to loose hope or sanity. Many of them had had their teeth pulled out, or other body parts removed. The surgeons claimed that their problems were cause by some bacteria which lived in some infection of theirs. So it was removed, a leg or possibly an eye, mostly teeth however. The surgeons seemed to like their teeth.

However, there came a day that one of the men in cell 4 had had enough. When the quacks came to release him from his bonds to have his daily "chat" he lashed out. One of the quacks was knocked out and many screams and shouts could be heard throughout the building. It suddenly went quiet a few minutes later though... and Robert wasn't seen again.
Robert had been a friendly soul, always cheeful despite being chained to a wall. On the occasions the other captives saw him he had been kind.
Those still in possesion of the ability to think used the circumstances to spark a rebellion, the sane blamed their keepers for Roberts disappearance, accusing them of murder. They sowed hatred, a common feeling to the mad. Many came to their calls; those that still held on to their sanity were willing to surrender their lives for the chance of escape and the others, well, they didn't mind making a few more corpses. It would probably be quite "fun" for them.
So they grouped together the madmen and rallied them. They told them that they could do whatever they wished, that tomorrow they would strike. However it's hard to trust a madman, who knows which of them had been mentaly enslaved and willing to do whatever the quacks tell them. The fear that the captures had found out about the plot and had bribed some of their fellow inmates also brought distrust.

One thing however is certain:

A jolly day the morning sun will bring.
