I sincerely apologize for not posting. Last time I checked the thread, everyone was being silly and the game seemed to be going slowly. Now I return to find 3 extra pages of intense discussion. In my defense, I was not lurking. I literally quite forgot about this topic. However, I am back.

My impressions are as follows:

I think Atticus' attack on Mariyta was overeager and strained. I cannot understand why he pursued her so rashly.

I agreed much more with mikeburnfire's replies than with DrippingGoofball's theories. I fail to see how we can be assured that Coron is scum if Spamwise turn up scum. It seems to me that she is pushing it a little far.

No. It would logically make him likely scum, because if he's good at hiding his scumminess when he's scum, he'd be more likely to be scum if he was slightly scummy.

I fail to understand your logic. DGB is right here that these sorts of posts are suspicious--and, quite simply, weird.

Interesting that you point out Goofball as a target though, I kinda agree with you. I don't really see the Coron-DBG that you suggest though. I see an Atticus-Dripping Goofball, if anything.

I'd like an explanation of this, because I don't see the Atticus-DBG link.

I knew I'd get a vote or two for not posting....which is a good thing. I wholeheartedly believe in applying pressure to those who are not active. However, let us not forget to apply the most pressure to those who are truly suspicious.

Dodgy: The truth is that I checked the thread on Sunday and started reading through all the material I had missed. I didn't go straight through it, and--in the end--it took quite a while. I realized that the other players were upset about lack of participation, so I knew that I would have to post. My class readings delayed my post until late Sunday night, whereupon I was able to add in a bit--including a response to mikeburnfire.

I am reluctant to vote for Atticus, frankly. Logically he's probably the best choice, but my heart has not been convinced.

I've got the BMW, which is a beautiful orange colour. Although I don't see how knowing what car a player drives will help.

I thought that more information was always a good thing for the town, considering that it is exactly what we lack from the very beginning of the game. Even if it does not provide immediate tangible benefits, it certainly can't hurt. We all have cars...even the mafia.

Furthermore, if you (mikeburnfire) sincerely believe that discussing what type of car we have is "scummy," then you should be voting/FOS'ing Spamwise, because he is the one who asked about Atticus' car in the first place (and DGB asked the colour!).

Knowing too much? I just looked at the setup of the game and assumed the simplest scenario. The mod talked about 12 cars, I see 12 players in the game...and I hazard the reasonable guess that each player controls one car.

I am tempted to vote for Coron for his strange little exchanges with mikeburnfire and for this comment:

Coron seemed to be twisting mikeburnfire's words with that statement. Furthermore, although he explained that he suspects Dodgy and Mariyta, I feel that he hasn't really made a case against Mariyta, but was certainly quick to jump on her--after waiting for someone else to vote first.

I agree that Atticus displayed some especially questionable reasoning early in the game and then clearly overreacted to DGB. I understand the rationale for voting against him, but I don't really think he's scum. He seems like the

obvious choice. I don't think Mariyta is a good choice simply because she likes to add a bit a humour into the game every now and then.

At the moment I suspect SpamWise and mikeburnfire.

It looks like all the people we've focused on have turned out to be dead ends. Atticus claims doctor, mikeburnfire mason then cop, and Mariyta mason. Perhaps we should apply pressure on someone new?

I definitely agree that mikeburnfire's actions are the fishiest. After all, he admits he lied. On the other hand, he immediately unvoted Mariyta after her claim, in comparison to ChannelDelibird who actually confirmed his vote on her!

I also went back and looked at some previous posts. mikeburnfire's vote on Spamwise may have just been a joke (see page 3). However, why this?
