Truly if you are that new have you signed up in the Newbie queue? We tend to get a bit rougher outside of that queue. Nothing is meant to be taken personally however.

The reality was I was pushing on you more to see how others responded than on you.
Plus that kind of nervousness can definitely be a scum tell. If you have any game mechanic questions, feel free to ask. Also what happened to your avatar? It would be easier to keep track of your posts if you have one.
lol @ the picture!

the bolded seems a little weak but nonetheless: did you learn anything from how the others responded to your push on truly?

ETL revealing the gambit was more helpful than scum pointing it out in my opinion, and only on this occasion. it was pretty obvious & scum who spot gambits can manipulate their reactions to suit the gambit pretty easily.

her freaking out seemed town, purely because I've been in that kind of flip-out-situation too and been town.

He's using that as a reason not to answer any of my questions or explain further. "being above it is not OK" Now he's just blatantly messing with me by making jokes with Ree and not saying anything else in response to anything that I said.

And Yates, the more you don't answer questions, the more I'm going to try to get you to talk and react. I'm like the bumblebee next to your ear that never goes away. And since I don't feel comfortable with the way you're acting, it's just gonna keep going on, baby, whether you like it or not. Get cozy, cuz I'm going to get to know you a lot better eventually and get you talking.
this is typical yates but the way in which you are trying to get him to talk makes me think you are town looking for answers. I like it, but maybe you should spread your seed (heh..) to others in the game rather than just focus on Yates who may or may not continue to act like he has done so?

He has given what appears to be zero thought to much of his votes, and has not shown a considerable interest in revealing the reasons behind these votes. Scum typically only explain themselves when questioned, but town will actively try to convince others of their own reads. His unwillingness to show us what he sees without us consistently asking is a reliable scum tell. The person in question also seems to be sinking under the radar throughout much of the game, which I feel is intentional.

I'm researching
Throws a vote on ETL, then says "he is researching". Just what is the purpose of his vote? He's not trying to start a wagon and it's quite clear no one has much interest on ETL. I feel Mac's vote was placed just so he has his vote somewhere to create the illusion he is scumhunting rather than sitting between the fences. He's provided zero meaningful insight and much of his posts are fluff evident by his pattern of one sentence posts.

He is constantly informing us he is "looking/researching", keeping us in anticipation for what we hope is a contribution to the scumhunting efforts. But it's been 34 posts and . I feel this is done so that no one questions why he has not provided anything thus far.
"Why haven't you posted anything meaningful yet?" "I'm still researching."
I recommend a thorough look at Mac's ISO to everyone in this game.
I have made two votes. one which I explained on yates pretty well. one on ETL which I haven't explained because I haven't had time to do the meta research I was planning on. how does placing a vote "create the illusion" I am scumhunting
when I actively admitted I was still doing some research on the vote to see if it was correct?
I didn't say "ETL is scum" and run with it. I said I was still investigating and my vote was there as a placeholder as such. nice effort to try and de-rail the broom wagon, however.

the investigating can wait, however. the research was how ETL usually reacts to claims because I can't understand why she is so desperate to lynch a claimed mason. couldn't find the time for it yet, and ended up receiving some fruitless accusations in here from you for it.

this is either: an effort to de-rail the broom wagon or anticipating an attack on ETL and defending her before I could get out of the starting block. I'm curious as to why it looks to Yates like a distancing vote, however?

I'm really really worried by fuzzy wandering into the thread and declaring intent to hammer broom without even mentioning him beforehand.

hey at least i dont make promises to make walls on people when im lurking!
Do you even know what active lurking is?

I just woke up. An hour after isn't active lurking: a minute after? Thats active lurking.

And before you get up on your high horse, I have a 5 minute break from work and am phone posting atm. Nachos reasoning for voting me is so so bad it looks like scum.

I haven't had alot of time to post lately but a quick skim read before each day. the above quote is nonsense, and I'm pretty sure for me this applies to most of the players in this game. where I interact and don't give reads. that's not a scumtell.

now you are voting me because I have more votes < you are voting me based off an associative tell when you have nothing to associate me with. you gave an extra reason to vote DP (backpedalling when accused of defending me. didnt see this but will read more on the weekend.) and yet you still vote me based on associative tells. you know who do this? scum who have managed to link a townie with their partner. town don't make associations when they don't know what they are associating with.

in this case you have linked me and doctorpepper, and yes, that does mean I think infinity is scum and DP is his buddy.

VOTE: DoctorPepper

I am urging the town not to let the ETL slot away that easily. the reason I'm voting DP over Infinity is because most of you read her replace-out as town, I don't particularly see it that way.

also before I go;

@mod - can mafia roleblockers/jailkeepers use their abilities on their partners?

the reason I asked is because I wouldn't put it past Yates to use such a gambit.

Mac, you planned to do research on ETL, but you ended up stalling and never gave us any info. You're on V/LA again, after a few inactive bouts D1.

From my limited experience, my gut says you are scum for the ill-timed awkwardness pre-flip, post-lynch. More damning is your explanation for being so sure about someone you never voted to be scum. Logically speaking, I don't buy your excuse. Strongest scum vibes from my re-read today, by far.

Vote: Mac
yes I didn't do any research, yes that is terribad from me and I could still probably do it if I felt like it but right now I have a stinking hangover but I have mapped out clearly what I planned to do in that I was meta-ing her to see how she reacted to claims like she did as such with Rach and her mason claim. sometimes research never fails.

tell me what the scum motivation for me, having just seen the town direct themselves to a mislynch without my help, turn around and say I was sure he was scum? there is probably none, it attracts unnecessary attention to myself

also I can't tell if you are using my V/LA as an excuse for me being scum. I fucking hope not.

In post 1333, DoctorPepper wrote: Ree, I never said he was town, I said your reason for thinking he was scum is weird. Thats different.
But Mac pretty much voted me because I had more votes, while thinking infinity is his main scum read. And saying Im the secondary scum read, with barely any reasoning, pretty much just sounds like "I think he is scum but since youre all voting for this guy, imma say he's scum so I can vote him"

So why is Infinity scum, Mac?
I don't think he's scum any more. but I'm REALLY wary of ETL's replace out because I just dont know where her freakouts were coming from. the wariness and shivers I was getting made me think he was replacing into a scumslot and then he made the pretty bad associative tells (like he had better reasons to vote DP rather than me since mine wasn't restriced to DP)

but since then he seems pretty town, I think I like his line of questioning and thinking. his reasoning for DP scum was good.

also I didn't say Infinity was my top read over you I'm pretty sure.

I'm on like 55 or something but the mason's really need to get a fucking grip on this game cos if they are legit and they don't we are going to lose.

how, I hear you say? if you two keep lurking around and prod dodging and not fucking scumhunting then you are not going to be killed at night because you are not utilizing your advantage you have. and when you are not killed at night because you are doing sweet nothing, we kill you. and when we kill you, we either win with a scumflip or we lose because you were masons.

if I finish catching up and there is not some fucking decent contribution from the two people who we are treating as confirmed town for the moment then there will be blood.

I'll have to take another look but this read has just been fired from a cannon into this game.

This is totally scum trying to get rid of the only PR. There are no town killing roles, thus, my role ONLY makes sense as TOWN.
anyway, i had a brief scan but will go into more detail tomorrow. this caught my eye. if you are a hider then that makes yates town because you didn't die. right?
