@zakk...the first 5-6 things you listed as "anti-town" with regards to him trying to make sure this game isn't spammy I can confirm is something both of us have discussed as something we'd like to see change in the site's meta. Announcing that it's not something he (and his confidence that he can make that happen stems from know I feel the same way and will be stubborn about it) will tolerate isn't anti-town because it's warning you ahead of time what he will be watching out for. I've taken to the same practice and advocate for policy lynches (more so in larges, but D1 PLs in minis aren't terrible either).

The fact is, we both feel that scum can hide in spam, whether town does it, or scum do it so much they hide their BS. Neither of us want to do that. If you can't play an honest game of manipulation, look elsewhere or be at risk of a PL whenever you play with one of us.

That being said, not sure that I've been the shining beacon of town that would encourage soliciting my opinion and read, but I do feel that the two of us have spent the larger part of the last month discussing strategy and what we hate about MS lately, so appealing to me is equal parts trying to dissect my thought process as it is reading me.

I will also say that I incorrectly misread him at first in Purple mafia for almost exactly what you don't like about him, lol.

@Axel...I just finished a game where zakk was scum and I initially mistownread him early game, but eventually he got sloppy. I think the difference in the two early games are the calculatedness of his play. Thinking back on Genesis mafia, he was definitely more calculated on which posts he responded to and how he responded to them. Here he has a much more earnest kind of play, in a way that can look sloppy when it comes to judgements that are based on emotion rather than logic.

Granted, I don't think he's necessarily driven on emotion rather than logic, it's just that's the feeling I'm getting from his posts.

That being said, I honestly couldn't really explain what I think is ~so town~ from Notty. I feel like when he addressed me in particular that wasn't just to appease me, it was to genuinely engage with me and figure out my alignment. I will acknowledge that his particular engagement with you was frustrating, but I do want you to understand that it's not alignment indicative at all, so unless you think I'm scum covering for him, you should at least be able to take my word for that point in particular.

Indeed through that whole period max kept his eye on the towny objective/intention ball and played.

Anyway, re: your first point...it has to do with iioa (information instead of analysis). Anyone could've made a post that was colored and linked to different posts. It didn't actually give much input as to the game state, and instead kind of followed popular opinion of the game (except for the zakk townread, which he has no reason not to fight, especially since there's already at least one universally townread person who agrees with him, and it only leaves someone alive to potentially mislynch later).

Point being: there was no real commitment in that post and I would've scum read it regardless of who posted it for that reason. The fact that I realized it was Max who posted it only reaffirmed my read.

Re: the ika comment...I can't really explain why I misunderstood the lack of comment there, but I'll admit I made a mistake there and leave it at that.

Re: his reaction to being pushed...as a leading wagon you can't really afford to be pushed regardless of alignment. I personally felt he had no choice with someone who was pushing his slot already. I've kind of been reading but I feel like either Scorpious is scum, or scum are no-killing to frame him in order to avoid a confirmed town.

What doesn't make sense from that perspective, is that scum would literally have to have been targetting Scorpious for the last two nights for there to justify the no-kill. It just wouldn't make sense unless they weren't around/active or were banking on us just lynching Scorpious.

Rolecops aren't that powerful for town in a small game, and have the inherent assumption that they're a scum role. Why would you think either of them are scum?

Also, with the claims on the table, why hasn't anyone asked what those results were just to narrow it down? >_>

Ok...godfather isn't entirely unreasonable for this kind of balance. Day talk is also pretty good so I'm not 100% convinced we couldn't have a JK, rolecop, backup rolecop, and an unprotectable cop...the backup rolecop is essentially VT and a scum sided role in it of itself, so to me that doesn't add a lot of town utility.

Gj town, sorry I wasn't super engaged for a while. I think I just expected to die and then when I didn't it just turned into a busier/more convoluted few weeks irl than I expected.

Um...balance was ok? Scum was really weak for the amount of named townies but sometimes that can self balance with rng to players and roles they get. The odd/even roles almost confirmed themselves, but a rolecop is a null/scum role typically so it balanced the gunsmith pretty well. Probably could've done without the JK since it's a pretty strong town role for what you were balancing around.

Otherwise, it was fun kind of watching people speculate when I tend to not care about speculation, lol. Good job modding your first game, Fro99er!
