In post 84, free stool sample wrote:So Simple's initial response to Johnny (post 31) definitely registered with me as a little weird. However, I didn't really see it as "defensive." I thought the specific reason he provided -- that he was leaving within his own ISO a note about a possible player relationship -- was kind of bizarre. Nervous/lying doesn't sound right to me Johnny, because like Optilex said in 32, he could easily have told us it was banter-y bullshit and moved on. If Simple really posted the way he did for the reason he says he did, AND he was willing to be completely transparent about it immediately after posting, why bother phrasing it the way he did? Why not tell us, "I'm noting possible distancing between MoSa and Johnny" right off the bat? It would benefit his ISO the same way, and it would have spared him the negative attention. I don't know, I just got this impression that Simple wasn't afraid of the negative attention, which is vaguely, slightly, just-a-bit town-ish? He's not reading as scummy to me yet, at the very least.
I'm not gonna belabor this because it's clear some of y'all are just not into into the wagon. I think his lack of a banter-y response iswhyit looks like he's lying or nervous.
@Dav is hypocrisy scummy?
For the record I'm agreeing with Jake's vote on Dav, I'm just way against the idea of letting Simple off the hook when that garbage at Jester was his only defense.

While 'impossible' may be a stretch I'll grant that he did put himself in an unfortunate position if town.

I mean the way this breaks down is I didn't like post 25 and the explanation you've given as to why you made it looks to me like fiction. There wouldn't have been anything to 'set you up' about if you had just ignored the interaction between me and MoSa (which I let slide with a joke just two posts earlier when poop did it) or went all in on it (which I let slide just a few posts afterward when Jester did it).
What you ended up doing was what looked like a sad inbetween where you didn't want to take a side but didn't want to incur my wrath by not saying anything, so you settled for an empty comment. The most townie thing to do when being called out on it would have been to be honest and say you just thought it was funny, which is the more plausible answer. The answer you gave seems implausible and I'm willing to bet day one on it.Phone posting. Low effort, big fun.

34 says verbatim "I don't see him being defensive. why do you think he is? even if he was defensive, what does it matter? being defensive isn't scummy" which strikes me as somewhat indignant. Jake from State Farm wrote:In post 191, JohnnyFarrar wrote:Henry and Bells should explain to me why Jester's a better vote than the two bigger wagons right now
why do they have to do this? trying to steer the focus to the largest wagons is anti-town imo because it narrows the focus. It's still early in the day phase so pressuring other people is a good thing.
I think both wagons have a decent chance of hitting scum right now, and if either are avoiding bussing their partners I'd like it on record. Also pressure votes are dumb when we could be voting scum.

because that alone isn't a reason to scum read somebody, but when you add in the other 2 things that I mentioned it makes him look worse. Note I am not voting him so my suspicion of him isnt as strong but he is certainly on my radar.
I mean the reason I brought it up is because you specifically say he's making a false accusation. Before it was just a difference in opinion, but now that you have more reasons to not like him, suddenly that bit's bad too.
In post 198, JohnnyFarrar wrote:Also pressure votes are dumb when we could be voting scum.
1. pressure votes are never dumb
2. I 2nd what jester just said, nobody knows for sure who is scum
3. I personally think simple hasn't done anything at all to warrant the wagon on him nor has anyone provided any compelling arguments as to why he is scum. His wagon started because of an accusation (mutiple) that he was being defensive which 1. I feel isn't even true and 2. isn't ever a reason to vote somebody because it's not alignment indicative.
4. I feel that dav has done many scummy things and would absolutely be a better day 1 wagon but i don't have a problem with people exploring other options as it helps generate more discussion and the more people interact with each other the easier they are able to be read. Pressuring the people who aren't contributing as much is probably a good thing, especially day 1 where scum can easily fly under the radar.
1. sure they are. This is a pressure vote:
VOTE: Jake
2. Uncertainty is fine but if I think I've got scum I'm not gonna stand by and let people vote lurkers all day.
3. My accusation has little to do with the defensive stuff, but you're wrong about him not being defensive and sometimes it is alignment indicative and those are things we're gonna have to agree to disagree on because this shit is going in circles.
4. So what about me telling them to explain their vote to me is not in favor of generating discussion?
Jake from State Farm wrote:In post 200, JohnnyFarrar wrote:Which is why I want them to tell me why their suspect is better than mine.
why do you think simple is scum again?
His whole play comes across as disingenuous. He posts a thing saying he laughed at my joke, I ask him why he said it and he launches into this longwinded explanation that is frankly hard to believe. You said it yourself earlier: scum want to look like they have a good reason for everything. Also it doesn't help that since then apparently everyone on his wagon is some form of scummy according to him.

Here I was about to say vig should shoot Bells.
If this is real I've interacted with enough people that you can probably get a few decent reads out of it. Good luck town, sorry you've got an idiot vig.
Things I'd be keeping in mind:
If Simple is town he's probably just a little bad at the game so if you decide not to lynch him (though to be honest I would) be sure to keep in mind that bad play isn't always scummy play
Monkey Saint, Henry, Chaos and Marvin look to be in full on coasting mode, don't allow that to continue.
Not really getting scum vibes from Jake, I just think he takes things too literally and his penchant for saying "_______ isn't happening" might just be rubbing people the wrong way.
Dav is probably going to stay a scumread for a lot of people for the entire game
Don't let stool and Jester get by on being personable and logical, they're both pretty good and will be hard to read. Don't townread them just for being good.
can't tell if I'm forgetting anyonePhone posting. Low effort, big fun.
