No I don't. What is this read? In my first newbie game, RC called me town for no reason and he was scum.

It was newbie 1655, don't know how to link. You should be able to find it in my history pretty easily. But it's not even a meta read. I had only posted 4 times, none of them very substantial. Why would anyone town read me unless they knew my alignment?

Ok, I'm back from vacation. I've read the thread. I'm not going to do a big catch up post.

Right now I'm feeling Mathilda scum. I get bad vibes from her posts, they're overly defensive and don't seem genuine. This especially pinged me.

I started to then decided not to. I do understand why you and Aneninan say that. This is Day 1 so all we have to analyse is behaviour and tone. They're things to look out for but they don't build a case. I'm not interested in trying to appear town, I'm just interested in hunting out scum. If that means that I attract attention then I don't mind. It's ultimately all information for town.

Not caring how you appear to others is cool. Declaring how much you don't care how you appear to others, thus showing that you really do care, is scummy.

Post 416 is what really cinches it for me. There is no conviction behind it. There is little analysis, just statements of fact with some slight spin to make them appear scummy. It's exactly the kind of case scum would make against town. It's also the kind of case scum would make against scum. I'm still wary of RC and wouldn't want to clear him if Mathilda flips scum. I think their interaction could be bussing, neither is pushing particularly hard against the other.

Agreed. The only thing that changed since her last post was that I had voted for her. I don't know why that makes her think she's on the verge of being lynched, especially given how dismissive she is of my accusation in 554.

Keyser already soft claimed. What happens if we run Keyser up to L-1 and he claims for real? Will you want to lynch him anyway? If you're dead set on a team of Keyser/Lhix/Fire, why is Keyser the one you're going after first?

Firebringer's reaction to Jake is really bad here. Jake's logic is perfectly valid, though drawn out to a pretty extreme conclusion. A normal response from Fire would be something like "Oops, I misread," not arguing for pages about it. Of course, the only way Fire legitimately scum slipped is if the team is exactly Fire/Kling/Suzune which I'm not really buying. But I think there's a decent chance that Jake accidentally caught scum for the wrong reason and Fire panicked. He reads like scum who is annoyed he was caught for the wrong reason, not like town who made a mistake.

All this talk of town's scum hunting being illogical, about being absolutely sure who is scum and all that's needed now is to find the last one, all the people repeating their accusations over and over without any analysis or discussion just to try and cast enough shade ... as far as I can see is all done by the three people above. These are the ones trying to bulldoze town into lynching people of their own choice. Absolutely everyone else has tried being logical, tried discussing things and more importantly tried to help the town scum hunting process along rather than sway people's opinions just by repeating unsubstantiated feelings. This is how we achieve a correct lynch and avoid mislynches.

Maybe I'm just being OMGUSy, but I'm getting bad vibes from Zoronos. Several times now he's mentioned the need for more analysis and deeper reads, but I don't see much of that in his own play. Why expect something out of others that you don't provide yourself?

If Zulfy's town, Mathilda's obviously town. If Zulfy's scum, Mathilda's still probably town because I don't think scum would make this claim about one of his buddies. I was suspicious of her yesterday, I'm not now.

We're not going to get anywhere in this game if we don't see a flip from Suzune or Kling, I prefer Suzune because of the earlier soft claim from Keyser which apparently only I care about.

No, I don't even think it's likely. But I think it's possible and it's clear that some people are never going to drop it until we lynch one of them.

Well, this game was disappointing. Yimmy, sorry your game was ruined, I don't blame you for not wanting to end it. Lhix is the only one who deserves blame here. Garmr, Klingoncelt, and Suzune, you all played admirably despite being thrown into a terrible situation.
