The staff at the Camino del Puma Hotel had arranged for a furry convention to take place there. The booths were in place. The food and drink to be used as refreshments were in stock in the hotel kitchen. The hotel was fully booked with visitors (some say overbooked). Almost everything was running like clockwork. But one thing kept this busy machine from running at all.

The night before the convention was scheduled to happen, somebody had delivered the desk clerk at the Camino del Puma Hotel something in a large black bag.

"It's for the convention tomorrow," the delivery person said.

The clerk opened the bag and was shocked to see what she found inside it—the dead body of the person the hotel hired to be the master of ceremonies. Also inside the bag was a piece of paper with an anti-furry slur written on it.

The clerk look up to see who would dare deliver such a "gift". Whoever it was had run off somewhere, and she remembered absolutely no details about the suspect. She decided that it was unsafe to hold the convention until the evildoers were found.

RULES

This is a closed setup, which means the only roles you will know in advance are your own and that of any other player we mention in your role PM. All other role information is secret, including how many players with a certain role exist and even if the role exists in the first place. Yes, a game with absolutely no vanilla townies is possible. It's been done before.
To vote for a player, bold the word "vote" followed by said player's name, e.g.
Vote: StrangerCoug
. As long as we can tell to whom you are referring, spelling does not count and we will accept abbreviated or otherwise shortened forms of the name of the vote's recipient. If you change your mind about whom you want lynched, you must bold an unvote, preferably in the format
Unvote: StrangerCoug
. You may also
Vote: No Lynch
, unvoted the same way as before.
A majority of votes is required for a lynch, even at deadline. Once a lynch has been decided, it is final and further votes and unvotes do not count for the current day. If deadline is reached with no player having enough votes for a lynch, the day ends in an automatic No Lynch.
Once you die, we'll allow one "bah" post that doesn't contain any game-related content if you wish to make it, but you must thereafter stop posting in the game. Said "bah" post is the only post a dead player may make during twilight. Living players may continue to talk during twilight as long as they follow all of the rules.
You are not forced to like each other, but the fact that you badly want so and so offed does not give you the right to insult him or her. Please keep your hatred of people or groups thereof to yourself. Profanity is not in and of itself banned, but if it gets out of hand, it falls under this rule.
Do not hide text or otherwise hinder its readability by using spoiler tags, invisible text, etc. You may, however, post in any color that can be easily read against the forum background other than
purple
. (I know it sounds arbitrary to forbid a specific color, but we're saving one of our favorite colors for mod use since we are the mods )
Impersonating the moderator is prohibited.
Unless you're the moderator (I'm one of them, obviously), co-moderator (that's Furry), or backup moderator (that's nobody) of this game, please do not delete or edit any posts in this thread.
You are not allowed to discuss this game outside of the thread unless we tell you otherwise, nor are you allowed to discuss other ongoing games in this thread.
Do not quote or pretend to quote any private communication, either from us or from anyone else you are allowed to talk with at night. This includes your role PM. You are allowed to paraphrase, but you are not allowed to plagiarize. If in doubt as to your paraphrase's legality, PM us with the wording you want to use.
Claiming to be scum with someone else is prohibited.
We will issue a prod to any player that does not post for 72 hours without notifying me of his or her absence. (We're sorry, but we do not check the V/LA thread.) If you are prodded, you will have 48 hours from the time of submission to post in thread. Failure to do so may result in replacement. Keep in mind that I have the board time down to the second. We will only prod the same player twice—after that, he or she must post every 72 hours to ensure that he or she remains in the game.
The fastest and preferred way to get ahold of us is by PM'ing us, but you may also communicate to us in thread if it is day or twilight and you are still alive. To do so, bold "Mod:" followed by what you want to tell us, as in

or
Mod: Furry should have five votes, not four.
Please use your judgment call in whether or not what you want to tell us should be public knowledge before talking to us in the thread. In additon, we will not entertain questions regarding possible night actions, nor will we answer questions about a person's role unless you happen to be the person in question and you ask us privately.
Rule violations will be dealt with case by case based on severity. This can be a warning (of which I will only give two per player), ejection from the game, or even a modkill. Modkills are not a fun experience for anybody—the players affected automatically lose, we do it in the manner that we consider most harmful to their factions, and we die on the inside every time we have to do it.

All rules are subject to change. In my previously modded games, things have come up that I didn't think about, and both my own and other's actions in those games have helped shape and modify these rules. It may happen again here.

With some of the most heated discussion that the Camino del Puma Hotel has heard in its lobby, it was decided that ol' Stripey wasn't who he said he was. Rope is a little hard to come by indoors, so one of you runs into your room and comes back out with a spare belt. You put it around his neck and strangle him.

You take his key, enter his hotel room, and find that he was an innocent member of the fandom, with a folder full of fursona drawings, art supplies, and a tiger fursuit in his luggage. This wasn't one of the murderers.

You have a hard time sleeping. You figure that the newsstand downstairs is still open, so you start down there hoping you can read to sleep.

You notice somebody else up on your floor—Jack. The first thing you notice is that he has two hotel keys, one of them apparently stolen. Combine that with a toolbox, a can of gasoline, and a matchbox and you're looking at a murderer.

You follow him, but keep your distance, hoping not to be noticed. Jack drops his things and enters what you learn is the key to Redflame the Lion's room into the door. He holds the door open with his foot while he gets the gasoline and the matches.

After a few seconds, you hear a flicking noise, followed very quickly by a screeching noise and Jack swearing. Redflame had hidden a firecracker in his fursuit, and it was shooting straight at Jack.

Jack runs out the door, and two bursts of sparks follow him. One comes within a foot of you and ignites a painting next to you; the second hits him in the back and knocks him to the ground.

Not surprisingly, the fire alarm goes off in the hotel. The three of you were the only people on the floor that had anything to do with the convention, but it doesn't matter—outside, you tell everybody what you saw.

An ambulance arrives and takes Jack and Redflame out of the hotel. The doctors pronounce both of them dead at the scene. You just witnessed a furhater getting killed.

You circle around Florence. Somebody had already gone and bought rope, so you're using that now. You bring her down to the floor and tie a rope around Florence's neck. You then tie her off a flagpole outside.

You wake up to find a very gruesome mess in the middle of the hallway. Somebody had apparently gotten a spear from heaven knows where, pulled out Naomi, and shoved the spear in her rear end, with the spear coming partway out her mouth. Last time you check, rabbit doesn't make a good shish kabob.

Rupert the Wolf was torn between lynching Vivienne or Rikki. After a long deliberation period, he finally spoke.

"Sorry, Vivienne," Rupert said. "Time to go."

"My name's Emily, not Vivienne."

Her statement came as a shock to the other two attendants. If she's lied about her identity, then maybe she's lied about being a furry too, and who knows what else! They quickly tied the rope around the liar's neck and strangled her.

As routine, the two of them went into Emily's room. They found a fox fursuit, and Rupert thought he was done for. He took a frightened stare at Rikki.

"Please, ma'am... don't... kill me..." Rupert cried.

"What? I've always been loyal to you guys," Rikki responded in an attempt to reassure Rupert. "Once a furry, always a furry. Besides, look closer to what you're holding in your hand."

He did, and realized that he was holding only the tail to the fursuit. Since you can sometimes get a tail separately, he checked the rest of it. It had been previously destroyed, apparently in a violent rage.

"Emily clearly didn't want to go to the convention," Rikki continued, "and I don't carry weapons on me. We nailed them... with a little help from Mother Nature."

"We

" Rupert shouted. "You mean that we can still have the convention!"

"Sure deal! Just tell the clerks that the roadkillers are dead."

Rupert was unable to control his excitement. He had grabbed Rikki and pushed her to the floor in a tight embrace.

There was a knock on the door. Rikki got up and answered the door. It was one of the hotel employees.
