Alright. I think it's time for a full claim because I think that is now my surest path to victory. Wall of text incoming, please read the whole thing.

I am the third party. For me to win, I need to collect a specific set of Objects or simply be alive when Town wins.

The catch was that all three of the objects I needed were in Town hands at the start of the game. My Object is the Nail File, and I can use it to put people to sleep and steal their stuff (sorry, Bad Romance, but that does mean I thought you were town). I came into this game with the idea that I could lay low and just steal what I needed and GTFO.

Well, I can't do that anymore because the scum team just killed Orion and took my Toothbrush. The best course open to me now is to do everything I can to help Town and win that way. I don't want to get the hammer vote. This is how you can keep me honest. I'm not after my collection anymore, I just want to get the scum out of this game and I'll win with you guys.

I can confirm three town players right now. Two because they have the Objects I'm looking for and I know those objects are in Town hands. The third comes from information on one of the Objects I stole last night and BR will be able to corroborate that information (for now, just keep your mouth shut).

So, there's two ways we can do this.
1. Mass object claim. We all put our starting Object on the table and I tell you guys which ones are Town.
2. I tell you the specific Objects I know are Town and those three players come forward.
Which do you guys feel is best?

I want to reiterate that I have no need to steal these Objects so you don't have any reason not to claim this information. First, one of my Objects is already in Scum hands, so I can't win that way anymore. Second, if I did steal from one of you that claimed it, you'd just hang me the next Day and I'd lose. What I'm offering to do here does not help me win except to make it easier for Town to win.

I was testing you. I already knew what the Knife did. Since it could help us confirm a Town player, I wanted to know if you'd lie about it. You came up with a really good plan when you voted Goodmorning and said you had the Wristwatch. If someone counterclaimed you, you'd be able to tell us that person was the town player.

Unless the Oracle lies, AP only has one item, and it's the Flask. The more I read about it, the Flask was used to subdue someone in the show, not kill, so I think he's the scum team's roleblocker.

Orion had the Toothbrush, so I believe the mod when he says all my Objects started in the hands of Town players. Nailclippers and Pack of Cigarettes can come forward safely and be confirmed town. If I steal from either of these people, then yeah, fucking lynch me. But give me the chance to show you guys I'm here to help. I'm giving you all the information I have now and I've removed my ability to win via collection. My only option left is to help Town win.

What I will say is that we want someone generally acknowledged town by most to be the hammer, since I believe he does have the flask and that will give a vig kill to town. We should also discuss vig targets before anyone places the hammer. I absolutely do not want Dechs to be the hammer.

I could be lying about AP's Flask. Why would I do that? What do I have to gain by this? You all believe I am the third party. If I lied about him having the Flask, then after we lynch him my lie will be revealed and I'll get lynched and lose. My only endgame in this is to survive, so I have nothing to gain from gambits like this, long before we're in lylo. It doesn't make any sense for me to lie.

If AP is lying, it's a move of desperation. The Flask is one of the Objects classified as a weapon. By outing that he has a weapon, he's been backed into a corner. If he admits to the Flask, then his power usage comes under the scrutiny of the Town. Instead, he decided to fall back on a fake claim to get one more lynch that doesn't hit scum. Yes, he'd be outed as a liar when my PM flips and shows you the Oracle's power, but unlike me, he has teammates to carry out his win after he's gone.

Also, I was under th impression that all powers are granted by objects. Only thing I'd think be diff is the 3p power, but as you say- nail file has a power. So, why do you have a no object power?

Look up the Conroy Experiment. It's the only thing the Toothbrush was associated with in the show that I'm aware of. All the items I need are from the Conroy Experiment and the three I don't have are the Toothbrush, Nailclippers and Pack of Cigarettes. Most of the items have "no known power," too. I'm either making this shit up really well or the mod designed this game with some awesome flavor. The people claiming to have those items would have been much more believable if you guys hadn't forced me into revealing which ones were still missing (just another example of "when I tell you I have reasons and don't go into detail, there's a bloody good reason).

You should be townreading BR because of the exchange we had at the beginning of the day. When she said "How did you know I had the wristwatch?" she was trying to get the person with the Wristwatch to counterclaim her, then she could say "That person is confirmed Town, because the Knife told me so."

It does not tell us the location of the Wristwatch. The way it was worded, just by getting the Knife, it told me that the original owner of the Wristwatch was Town. It also told me that the original owner of the Knife was Town, too, but that was kind of obvious because of Orion's flip.

I tried to Oracle, but the initial wording was ambiguous and apparently the Key can interfere with it. I could have used the Oracle on BR, but I didn't. I used it on flames slot and it would have worked only if the Key ability failed.

This made me slightly go that Dechs might be BSing us about the Cigs\GM's item being town.

This was me trying to direct the scum kill. I was pretty sure they'd want their Flask back, and if I could get the Flask on a confirmed townie, I would have been able to guarantee that's where the NK went. As it turned out, I had to guess that they'd value the flask over killing a confirmed townie since the Flask ended up on BR, who was pretty damn Town anyway.

I even had this whole post planned where, after Farside or GM hammered I could be like "See, I told you I didn't have to worry about survival. Why would scum shoot me when they could kill a confirmed Townie and get their Flask back? Suckers!" Then you guys would all be "See! I knew you weren't being totally honest!" and then the Day would end and that player wouldn't die and I could be a fucking hero with my mindgames. I'm still a hero, but I just didn't do it with style, so I'm a little disappointed.

Well, that ability is out of the bag now, so toNight it's just down to a game of WIFOM while I try to protect the player they wouldn't expect me to protect so they can get the shot through.

I loved the flavor of this setup, but I agree that the 3rd party shouldn't be able to win with Town. Would have given me incentive to stay hidden. I'm surprised how many people pegged me as the third party so early.
