STUFF I'D LIKE YOU TO KNOW
(I) Most importantly, use common sense. My job is not to provide you with lawyer-grade loophole-proof rules.
(II) The rules are set in jelly. I may change them if I realize they are insufficient, and they are also negotiable if you don't like them.
(III) Stuff in the
forum rules and guidelines naturally applies.
(IV) If you aren't sure about anything, you can always ask me about it. I'm here to help.
SOME OTHER IMPORTANT STUFF
(a) Votes (and anything else meant for me) must be emphasized by bolding, underlining, altered size, setting it on its own line, allcaps, or anything that communicates to me that you are not simply
referring
to the act of voting (or wondering aloud). Please use a colon so I can search for 'vote:' to collect votes when I'm in a hurry. Unvoting is not necessary to place a new vote.
You may not vote for yourself.
No homemade votecounts, please.
(b) Deadlines will initiate a brief no-discussion period with only voting to determine the lynch. The vote requirement will not change.
If the deadline fails to produce a lynch, there will be no lynch.
Deliberate nonlynch takes as many people as would have to abstain from voting to force it - usually, half the players, rounded up.
(c) Players may talk in twilight, except for the lynched player. You may drop an extraneous ghost post in the thread on your way out if you die.
(d) Nights will end around half a week to a week after they start, depending on player count.
If you miss the night deadline, your choice will be completely random.
Shared abilities require an indication of who is using them, and investigative roles will not receive their results until the end of the night, unless it is an open setup and obviously not necessary.
(e) Please don't use aggravatingly bright colours like yellow, cyan, or white.

I don't care if you use colours I tend to use, as long as you're not trying to impersonate me.
(f) You may not do anything to yourself - vote, kill, investigate, track, watch, whatever - except redirect someone else's action onto yourself.
(g) Issues more severe than a votecount error should be handled with the moderator privately. I will seriously consider all grievances brought to me, but don't overdo it. Modkill fishing does not make me a happy camper.
(h) The game will be called when: (i) a surviving team achieves victory by completely eliminating all opposition or making this absolutely inevitable; (ii) opposing parties remain in voluntary standoff; (iii) opposing parties are in deadlock; (iv) everyone is dead.

Standard mafia information:
~ Lynches take a simple majority.
~ Daylight modkills shift the game to night to prevent modkill abuse.
~ Replacements will be made for excessive inactivity without prior notice.
~ Pre-game is available for 'night' talk.
~ Living and dead players are not meant to interact with each other.
Modkill situations:
~ Communicating with other players outside the thread, except where specified in your role.
~ Editing or deleting posts.
~ Quoting key phrases from your role description.
~ Quoting information provided to you from outside the thread.
~ Hiding messages in the thread via teeny text or background colours.
~ Sabotaging your team.
~ Impersonating the moderator(s).
~ Fictional imitations of any mentioned bans.

(1)
You may only communicate in pictures
, with the exception of votes.
(2) Pictures
cannot have text
in them.
(3) Voting must be formulaic in this game; use the word 'vote', followed by a colon, followed by a space, followed by the player's
exact
username. If you have trouble with spelling names or using special characters,
seek instruction on the 'copy' and 'paste' functions.
(4) No emoticons.
(5) Filenames and URLs should indicate nothing other than that the picture is, in fact, a picture.
(6) Don't post your signature in this game. This is accomplished by clearing the checkbox labeled "Attach signature" in the posting options, under the message box.
(7) Please try to avoid changing your avatar during the game's run. If you do not have an avatar, you are required to provide a picture substitute for use during the game.
(8) Announcements of V/LA are exempt from these restrictions, but should be as succinct as possible.
(9) To get my attention in the thread, you may say my name or "mod" in text, but your question still has to be in pictures.
(10) Don't post your role PM picture, or make drawings imitating the style to pretend you are posting your role PM picture.

Slight infractions on these rules may or may not be subject to several warnings before an outright kill to allow for mistakes. I reserve the right to modkill immediately if I determine a violation to be too blatant to have been unintentional or to have affected the game strongly. Also, a few clarifications:
~ Text FOS is not allowed by these rules, though feel free to represent it in pictures.
~ Quoting text still counts as posting text.
~ You may not refer to or bring attention to text, e.g. by posting an arrow pointing to text.
~ Irrelevant text in a picture is fine, such as the word 'Pepsi' on a pop can, although to be safe you should still just edit the text out somehow.
~ Emotive punctuation, such an exclamation mark above a surprised character's head, is allowed.
~ Since votes are going to be just about the only text in the game, I don't really care if or how you emphasize them.
~ I will be editing out illegal pictures and/or text as I find them, regardless of what action I took in response to the violation.
You may have noticed that your role PM does not contain any text whatsoever. I will not be providing text explanations for your role, but
your win condition is not intended to be ambiguous
. To be clear, a green player is town-aligned, a red player is mafia-aligned, a dark red player is werewolf-aligned, a grey (including black or white) player is neutral, an olive player is cult-aligned, and a purple player is self-aligned. (Not all of these alignments will necessarily be in the game.) If you are unsure as to which team you are on, please ask for clarification.
