Budja's two posts so far:

Kuribo wrote:For someone to pointlessly shout, "HEY I'M VOTING BECAUSE IT'S THE RVS!" four pages into it when we already have things to discuss... that's artificial.

I'm not saying we shouldn't have structure, or discussion, or anything else. I'm saying that there's no random voting stage because we moved out of it before it started. Therefore, is the "random vote" artificial? Was it just an excuse to vote that person?
The lynch mechanic may be different, but the methods of scumhunting are still the same. I find you're reacting quite strongly to a non-lethal way of tracking people's suspicions, anti-town of you at best.

I'm not denouncing the voting entirely, Captain Literacy*, but denouncing the fact that we don't actually have a random voting stage, and the fact that someone would say "HEY LET'S START THE RANDOM VOTING STAGE" four pages into the thread.

Try and follow along:

1. The point of the random voting stage is to generate discussion.

2. Therefore, once discussion has become meaningful, the RVS ends.

3. If there is meaningful discussion beforehand, there is no need for the random voting stage.

As I've pointed out, this makes an attempt to start a random voting stage at best pointless and at worst, a distraction from valid discussion.

*Captain Literacy will be your nickname for the remainder of this game.

veerus, what's up with the quick fire attempt? And, what sort of weapon has an altfire that needs no targeting? Some sort of rocket/grenade launcher?
Also, Xylthixlm, is two posts enough of a reason to fire, especially as you yourself have said "I have a good gun".

<forbiddanlight>: Hey, let's kill some_noob's corpse again!

<Xylthixlm>: Hey guys, there's a Healpod over here somewhere.
<Xylthixlm>: Let's go grab some health.
<Xylthixlm>: Or damage some scummy players, whichever works.

<forbiddanlight>: So, why does duckduck96 have +10 health?

<Xylthixlm>: Health packs, I assume.

<Kairyuu>: Cut the chatter, ladies, and let's go find some scum.

<Pesco47>: Xyl seems fishy somehow.

<StrangerCoug>: I wanted to shoot randomly. WHY CAN'T I TAKE A RANDOM SHOT.

<Budja>: hey guyz, I have a good gun.

<ortolan>: Hey, what's this powerup here? Somebody grabbed it before I could.

<Xylthixlm>: Budja needs to die. Let me hunt him down.

Xylthixlm just put a hole in Budja's head!

This is Kari Nytellos at Liandri News. More carnage was reported at the Unreal Tournament today, as the sabotage of the respawner technology claimed its second victim.

Tournament records indicate that the victim was a player by the name of
Jacob
and had no connections to any known terrorist or subversive factions.

4) Budja, Jacob, Townie (started with Redeemer) is dead

Jacob Statistics:

Game of Origin: Unreal Tournament 2004
Race: Human
Alignment: Townie
Starting Health: 100
Starting Shield: 0
Starting Weapon: Redeemer
Starting Items: Shield Gun
There is a Redeemer on the ground.

FoS Xyl, and SC

Both of you have already fired your weapons, prematurely by my judgment.

This isn't a game where you can vote and unvote. Damage done by shooting is permanent, and puts the player you shoot that much closer to a lynch. Therefore, it should be common sense to realize that shooting should not be done unless you are 1) shooting a confirmed scum, or 2) shooting with a group to get a lynch going. If someone disagrees with this sentiment, please explain why and then maybe I can understand why in god's name two people (well...Kai didn't actually get shot, but w/e) have already been shot at.

Also, whoever has the redeemer should claim it (just) before firing, as not doing so could be devastating.

Also, can anyone find a link (or multiple) to all of the weapons that have shown up in UT games in the past? I would like to know what I can expect, as I've only played some of the games.

Added since the lynch scene

I was just about to post, and clicked the button when I got the message "this thread is locked." Ok, WTF Xyl? I demand an explanation, NOW. Do not doubt that my finger is on the trigger.

And what do we say no one picks up the Redeemer? Based on my experience in UT games, it usually gives as many teamkills as it does enemy kills. I think it'd be fair to leave it on the ground.

An insta-kill? Why? You just blasted a townie away, and that certainly brings you up on the suspicion-o-meter in my mind.
Also, I agree with Isacc that we should just leave the Redeemer down there. That is, seeing as we just lost one townie to an uber-weapon.

I beg to differ. I would imagine that Xyl has a sniper rifle, which is the only weapon that causes "BOOM! Headshot."

Altfire on the snipe rifle is zoom.

When you have a dayvig, how do you use it for town's benefit? If he knew what he was doing, which he clearly did, how was he being pro-town there?

I looked through that link I posted, and it says that the sniper rifle's altfire is the scope. In that case, I guess it would be targetless.

Higher Ground too I would assume.
Xyl wrote:My starting location has a health pod.

Should we reveal where we started?
Xyl started at the health pod and since the update of armour/HP, his didn't change, so that means he went to a new location. There's no good reason for him to leave the healthpod, unless he had inside info on there being a healthpod trigger. Leaving that location and finding Higher Ground so coincidently is too much of a fluke for me to believe.
