Fundamental
0. Please note that for this game, the vernacular in use will differ from normal conventions. Days will be known as Acts, nights will be known as Intermissions, and lynches will be known as Finales. This vernacular will only be for flavour purposes: you are not required to use it, by any means.
1. Above all, this is a game – have fun!
2. Unless it is explicitly stated in your role PM that you can do so,
do not
communicate with anyone outside this thread. Even then, only communicate when your role PM states you can.
3.
Do not
quote any communication you have with me, the moderator of the game. Depending on the circumstance, you may be able to paraphrase things I have sent you (such as a role PM). Use common sense and if you are unsure feel free to ask me via PM.
4. I’m only human, and as such, I’m bound to make mistakes. If you believe I have made one, feel free to send through a PM and tell me what you think is wrong.
5. Be courteous to your fellow player. This is just a game, and any blatant personal attacks on another player
will not
be tolerated. Remember that everyone just wants to have fun!
6.
is my colour. Please don't use it.
7. Any form of encryption or alteration is forbidden. This includes bona fide encryption, spoiler text, and unreadable text. I reserve the right to judge on a case-by-case basis.
8. Any outside non-game related references should be left at the door. To clarify: meta arguments and the like will be perfectly admissible. Threatening to blacklist someone or similar
is not
.

Voting, Finales and Deadlines
9. For your vote to be counted, it must be bold, and in the form
Vote: playername
. The colon is optional. You may also vote to No Lynch by posting
Vote: No Lynch
. Do not attempt to manipulate this rule. Any attempts to do so will be foiled by the vote being counted or uncounted, depending on the scenario.
10. Although it is not necessary, it is very much appreciated if you could unvote before changing your vote. Again, unvotes must be bold to count.
11. A Finale will occur at
n/
2 + 1 vote then rounded down, where n is the number of players currently alive. Once a Finale is achieved, votes may not be changed.
12. At a deadline, rule eleven will still be in play. If there is not a majority, then nobody will be the victim of the Finale and night will begin.
13. If a Finale occurs, then the game enters ‘Underscore’, where all alive players bar the lynchee may converse until I lock the thread and confirm the Finale. No votes may be changed during an Underscore.
14. Once you are dead, you may no longer post. However, you are allowed to make a single post containing one S, followed by one W, followed by as many E's as you wish up to 25, followed by an N, followed by up to another 25 E's, followed by a singular Y. You may capitalize as desired, but if it looks hideous I reserve the right to edit it back to a bearable standard.

Activity
15. Treat this game as a commitment, and try your best to stay active. If you will be unable to participate for a period longer than 3 days, please PM me or post in thread.
16. Failure to remain active throughout the game will result in your replacement at my discretion. Try to post at least once every 72 hours.
17. Act One will start with a deadline of three weeks. All other Acts will start with a deadline of two weeks. I may contract or expand the deadline at my discretion.
18. All nights will have a deadline of 72 hours. This deadline may not be shortened.

Special Rules
19. Before the start of each Act, and before the thread is unlocked, an Overture will occur. During the Overture, Mrs. Lovett's Meat Pie Emporium will open and give out its wares to the fine ladies and gentlemen among the participants. The Overtures will proceed as follows:
- A number of pies will be presented in-thread. No information about the pies will be presented. In addition, the picking order of the current Overture will be announced in-thread.
- Beginning with the first participant, participants will, in order, select a pie or decline to eat a pie via PM.
- Once all pies have been selected or once all players have made a selection, all participants will devour the pies. Any effects this may have will be disclosed in the appropriate fashion.
- At this point, the Overture will end, and the next Act shall commence. If there are any pies remaining, the Emporium will save them for the next Act.
20. There will be no Overture in Act One.
21. If, at any time, a participant names Green Finch and Linnet Bird as their favourite song, they will be modkilled.*

If All Else Fails
21. If, for some tragic reason, I have fallen off the face of the Earth (which I expect you to mourn), and can thus no longer mod, please contact the List Mod, hasdgfas.
*You will then be immediately revived with no reveals taking place, so really, nothing substantial will happen. Don't test me, though.
At least one participant has received this win condition:
Town Win Condition wrote:You win when there are no longer any threats to the town.
